Great value and does what I needed
This unit does exactly what I needed, so it gets top rating. There are weaknesses though, which will mostly be an issue if you are very good at soldering and thus have precise needs.- The 60 watts is nice, yet I'd like it to go to 80 based on my results. Yet 60 works well, and 80 would be rarely needed.- The frame is plastic and may be very durable, but I can't fully tell. It gives it a cheap feel. The spool frame screws into the plastic wall. That may be weaker than I'd like, but it's OK for now.- The spool frame would be better if It could easily be removed. I may just take it off and leave it off because I can't quickly detach it, and sometimes need the solder closer to the work.- The temp control seems very nice (caveat, I am coming from the kind that are on or off, so people used to better equipment may or may not agree).Overall, I'm very happy with it for the low price.

Big step up from $5 irons
I love it. I'm stepping up from super cheap irons and this one is so much better. I'm glad I didn't pay way more for a name brand. It has good build quality and heats up super quick. Even with this great iron soldering is still a bit of a trick that requires skill and practice. I learned that I need to clean the tip way more often than I thought. But it cleans easily on a sponge and then works well. Keep the heat dial in the middle. If soldering isnt working well, dont be tempted to keep turning up the heat like I did. I wouldn't bother with the tiny sponge provided. Throw it out and cut a new sponge to fit in the holder.

really a great iron esp when it only costs about 30 bucks, but dosent get to hot temp in 6 secs
i put the station together today to break it in and to test it out before i use it to desolder and resolder my custom tofu keyboard and its really nice for the price it's almost unbeatable, the only thing i noticed is that i was very embarrassed when i told my dad that it can reach really high temps high enough to be soldering within six seconds or less and it didnt come anywhere near that, which i figured would be the case because thats just insanely fast, but i figured if they say it dose so boldly on amazon that it must be possible, and i also seen people in the reviews saying it heats up insanely fast but it just seemed like a basic notmal heat up time to me but i suppose it could be a little faster. the grip on the iron itself is super comfy in the hand and everything stays planted very good so nothing will be sliding around ontop of your desk or table when your working which alone is a great plus because nothing if more annoying then when your working on something and your equipment wont stay in one place and you have to keep on resetting it back too where it should be great value and product overalll, im sure everyone who buys this will be very satisfied and happy with the value to performance

Hasn't burned down my house
I was skeptical at first, but i needed a solder station for a project, where my non adjustable iron wasn't going to cut it. It's been almost 2 years, and the only thing i've had to do, is pick up some chisel tips. This week, i forgot to turn it off, and it sat there for at least 12 hours. I panicked at that realization, but was relieved to find it, doing its thing. the iron body, and the station case weren't even warm.Best Bang for the Buck for sure!

Great upgrade to my old cheapo soldering iron.
My old iron was a cheap 30 watt one from radio shack maybe 40 years old. This new one heats up in seconds, has tempurature control and stand, comes with a sponge. It makes soldering so much easier, I consider it a must have for the price (<$40). It saves so much time and effort, and gives great quality solder joints.

Replacement Iron
I like this very much it was working great for what I was using it for, but when I damage the cord for the iron, I could not find a replacement I’d come back every month or so and try to search Amazon and the Internet and the company site but can’t find replacement iron

Worked great until it broke...
Just a quick FYI for anyone wanting to purchase this and plans on using it often. I bought it 4 months ago and have used it on an average about twice a week. The threads where the handle connects to the pipe are plastic. (See pictures) From the heat at the connection, the threads have lost their shape and no longer tighten.Which is a shame because other than that, I really liked my little home station. I can't find a replacement wand that's cheaper than just buying a new kit, and I don't want to get caught in a cycle where I'm buying a new one every four months either.
