Van Cleef & Arpels First Eau De Parfum Spray Refill - 90ml/3oz

This is a lovely, lovely, old fashioned white flowers monument. It's just beautiful, if you love, as I do, the old style big white flowers perfumes in the same vein as White Linen, Arpege, Joy, Chanel No. 5, etc. This is such a HAPPY scent; I wear it to bed and it carries me off to dreamland every time. The best part is that it is not only well made, but reasonably priced. You just "can't go no better" than with First. I bought a backup bottle as well. Tip: for the ultimate in an olfactory experience, turn on your shower to your ideal temp. Spritz (over the door, or whatever) about 5 squirts of First into the warm stream of shower water. Get in. OMG. You will be awash, literally, in a perfumed shower of radiance and happiness. You could of course get a shower gel, but this technique, trademarked by me, of course, is a better experience--it really creates the illusion of a full -on perfume shower. Try it. And this gem is priced well enough so that you should feel free to spritz away. You won't regret it!

I loved this perfume when I first purchased it years ago and thankfully it has not been reformulated. Classic in every way. For those into vintage this one is a solid and steady performer. It has staying power and will transport you back to a place and time. So much fun reconnecting with this perfume.

Many years ago I shared a flight with a president of a perfume company. He suggested this scent was perfect for a young woman (it was also from a competing company) and I bought it for my fiance. 30 years later she still wears it. It used to be hard to find but thanks to the internet and amazon it is no longer a big deal. My recommendation is to go for the perfume not the body spray or other products.

This was a blind buy for me. I love fragrances and try to add to my collection when I find good prices on classic scents. This is pretty heavy on the aldehydes, just like many of the perfumes of the past. I think it is one of the elements that younger people somewhat derisively dismiss as being "old ladyish". It is overwhelming at first, but if you give her a chance to settle, she becomes a lush floriental, and quite beautiful. It is a nice departure from overly sweet gourmands and fruitchoulis that dominate the market today. It's not for everyone and definitely not for the under 25 crowd, but it is worth a go if you like the powerhouse perfumes of years one by!

Love that scent . The item came in time , well packaged , and the scent is true . Of course, not as lingering as the perfume itself, but very lovely for several hours . Will order again soon. It would also be a very welcome Christmas gift for a discerning friend .

I've worn this scent many years ago and it was a favorite. This didn't smell the same. It reminded me of First but it just wasn't all there.
