Willow Tree Starry Night Nativity, Sculpted Hand-Painted Nativity Triptych

Beautiful piece

I have been wanting to invest in a nativity set for many years. I finally treated myself to this one by Willow Tree. It is the most beautiful nativity set I have ever seen. The design is so simple and clever and when I actually opened it and gazed upon it I began to weep tears of joy. This piece is that special! The photos don’t even begin to do it justice. It’s even better in person. It’s a very substantial piece and you cannot beat the price especially considering the thoughtfulness, elegance and the details that Susan Lordi put into this nativity set. I added some fake snow and a few lights around it and it’s absolutely MAGICAL. This is a keepsake that you can pass down from generation to generation. I can’t wait to hand it down to my boys one day. Thank you Susan!!!!! I am a huge fan and you are an incredible artist! To me this piece is priceless! The colors, design and artistry are incredible! It came impeccably packed and when you open it you feel like someone carved it by hand just for YOU. I loved it so much I ordered one for my sister. She just doesn’t know it yet. It’s due to ship tomorrow. I can’t wait for her to unwrap it. I was on the phone with her while she was pleading with her husband to put their nativity set for sale on ebay. She went on to complain about the tedious task of unpacking and assembling her bulky, dated and dreadful nativity set. Well I finally found a gift that embodies the hope, the light and the beauty that she possesses and so selflessly pays forward to so many others, myself included.

I wanted something very special for my sister who has really been invaluable the past MANY years. Knowing she loves Willow Tree figurines, l began looking for nativity figurines. There were too many decisions involved there. Go with the bare bones ~ Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus in a manger, couple of sheep and a cow? Sounds perfect but looking at it, it seemed sparse. I guess that was the point in the "facts" of the event, but really...it was more involved than that. Three Wisemen, each on a camel and bearing a gift. There were shepherds and sheep and Angels . Well, when you get all of that put together, it is overwhelming ~ especially considering they are separate pieces. I would not want to keep up with all of that from year to year and I was fairly certain my busy sister with her busy grandchildren, would not cherish the chore either. She would be appreciative but still.... Willow Tree does have lovely figurines and I was disappointed when I thought I would have to choose something else. But then, like a bolt out of the blue or more precisely, like an answered prayer, there was this beautiful triptych! It conveys the miracle of Christmas very simply and tastefully. It can be hung on the wall or displayed on a mantle or table. What's more, after the season, fold it up and it is a beautiful show piece year round. Even the packaging is elegant.After all that, it probably goes without saying but I'll say it any way. My sister loved it ~ maybe as much as I did. My ONLY complaint? Almost immediately I thought to order another....maybe for myself, maybe not. When I went back to the page to place the order, the price had gone up significantly enough that I backed down. Maybe next year?

I have seen this item over the years range in price from $140 a $170 dollars. It has been on my wish list forever. I opened my Amazon app and took a peek at my list and noticed this item was on sale for $69 ish dollars. I immediately decided now was the time to purchase. Oh my goodness this item is so beautiful and HEAVY! This will be. A cherished item for many, many years in my home. It is well worth $170 in my opinion but I am thrilled to have purchased it at such a great deal.

Gave this to my wife since we have minimal room for a full Nativity. She loves it.

I was worried about spending so much money on something I hadn't seen and touched in person. I couldn't decide, and waited until the last moment before Christmas to order, and I should not have worried. The nativity scene is beautiful. The colors are lovely - somewhat muted/soft colors (which my niece will like) (the blue is not a hard, green type of blue - but rather soothing) and it has just the right amount of sparkle for me (the gold enhancement). I was worried because another reviewer had mentioned it was smaller than they expected, but I find the size perfect for the mantel. The inner packaging -- not the outer Amazon packaging - is excellent - making the presentation even more impressive. The nativity is very heavy - that surprised me. I hope my niece and her family will enjoy it for years to come.
