Yes, they shrink, but not very much. I have a 37" waist. This means I have to choose between 36" or 38" pants. I can't wear 36" so I buy the 38" pants which are loose and hope they shrink just enough to give me a better fit. These shrank just enough to fit perfectly for me. They barely shrink in the length compared to in the waist. I would guess they shrunk about 1/2" in the waist and 1/4" in length. Washed three times now.

From what I have observed in men’s pants , this is called the inseam. Thanks.

Hair and lint always show up more on darker clothes, I’d recommend keeping a lint roller nearby just so you can avoid it.
