Worked for me - but WHAT AN ODOR!!!
My grease stain crisis occurred at about the same time that I acquired a highly-rated top-loading HE washing machine – my very first one, after having the same beloved trusty old Kenmore for 24 years!!! So, it was a double whammy for someone like myself who is a bit of a control freak – I had been unsuccessful in my attempts to get the grease stains out of three pairs of my husband’s “dressier” shorts, and then I had to deal with a washer over which I seemed to have very minimal control!!! When I ordered this stuff, I glanced over the reviews, but did not really read them carefully. Fortunately I did go through ALL of them before starting the stain removal. This stuff has a VERY STRONG ODOR. Our laundry area is in our full finished basement, which is totally below ground level, with no windows. Since it is summer, I decided to go out on the patio to treat the shorts, and the smell was definitely very pronounced. While wearing heavy-duty vinyl gloves, I rubbed the liquid directly into the stains (these were khaki and “stone” colored shorts), then took the shorts to the washing machine. In order to balance the machine, I put them in with a nice ivory-colored towel that my husband had used as a liner in the trunk of his car for at least a year (covered with numerous unidentifiable stains) and also a white T-shirt with a design on the front that had very old paint stains. Ran all that through a “heavy” short wash with hot water and HE Tide “free and clear” detergent. Then did a rinse and short soak, I think, before running a “heavy soil” cycle with extra rinse. I did use non-chlorine bleach and borax. This morning I went to the dryer to see the results, and was pleasantly surprised. The towel (which I had not pretreated at all) was spotless, and two of the shorts were also. One of them had barely discernible grease residue, but it’s good enough for summertime casual wear (I am pretty sure that I had pretreated those shorts with another product, and had put them in a hot dryer after washing, without realizing that the stain was still there – so the dryer heat probably “set” the stain). So, yes, I would definitely recommend this to someone else in a similar situation, but because of the strong odor I would only use it in truly desperate situations. I had to turn on a fan in our basement at the bottom of the stairs to our main level, in order to dissipate the odor coming from the washing machine. If I had had my old-fashioned washer, I would have run the shorts through at a high water level rinse first – but with my HE washer I have absolutely no control over the water level! Oh, the old paint stains on the white T-shirt were unaffected (that shirt has been washed numerous times since the paint incident).

Great stuff!
I spilled several drops of dark petroleum based scratch cover liquid on camel colored carpet. After blotting each spot carefully the stain just seemed to spread. To avoid replacing the carpet, I ordered Guardsman Dry Cleaning Fluid and it is AMAZING! A few drops on a terry cloth over my finger dabbed onto the spots made them disappear! It cleaned the spots clear down to the base of each carpet fiber without hardly even having to rub! Fantastic product!

Didn't work
Needed a dry cleaning fluid to clean a few little stains off my fabric couch. This product did not remove any sort of stains. Was very disappointed

Works Great!
I used this product on patio cushions that were badly stained by melted butter -- creating a grease stain. It was a last ditch effort before replacing the cushions (which were otherwise in great condition). Guess what? It worked!! This cleaning fluid gets a "thumbs up" from me.

It worked!
I had a beige wool area rug that that I spilled candle oil on, it left a noticeably dark stain that was set-in. I tried everything, resolve, spot shot, other professional products, they would look like the stains were gone, but the next morning it was there again, I thought I was going to have to throw the rug out. Along came this product, I treated the area twice, putting the product directly onto the carpet, (I should note that that the instructions say NOT to do this, but it didn't harm my carpet) patch test first! I treated twice, and did have to rub a bit, but what do you know? the stain is almost completely gone - very happy! Note: make sure you use this in a well ventilated area, the fumes are quite strong....

Probably Over Rated
In fairness, the stains I tried to get out were rather old. It didn't work. I suppose that if the stains were current it may work but I don't know that.I probably wouldn't buy this again.

HELPFUL FOR S UPHOLSTERY FABRICS
I used this recently on two arm chairs that are frequently used...a cotton fabric with an "S" rating which calls for dry cleaning only. The upholstery was not stained, just getting 'dingy' looking on the armrests and upper back from normal use. Unable to use water and soap, this was my only option....it did help. I will try again for better results.

S Fabric Miracle
Saved my S Fabric couch! I got some lotion on my brand new couch and had no idea it was S Fabric. Tried to clean it with water, but that was a big mistake and made a huge water ring and didn't remove the lotion. I then tried the couch cleaner I had for my previous couch which was pretty miraculous, but that also made it worse as I didn't know I was dealing with a sensitive S Fabric, and added yet another water ring.. I finally figured that out and ordered this product. I tried it and was thrilled with the results. This took several applications, but that was my fault because I had set in my stain three times by that point! Now that I know what the deal is, I won't be without a bottle of this in the house.
