Yes it has a loud speaker button with a choice of volume

Q: Does the base station have a lead to connect to broadband hub

It doesn’t come with a broadband connector, this is supplied by virgin media, you plug your phone into there connector and then into the hub, virginmedia should be sending you a connector, that is if you are with virgin if not you will have to get in contact with the company that you have your home phone line with.
