I had a similar, larger light in my music room that suddenly simply didn't want to work with the app anymore. I could delete it, re-add it to smartlife, and control it once or twice then it would be offline again. So time to replace it. This one had a decent price, and more importantly, didn't require some annoying little third party app that would only be used for this one item. I've got nearly 150 devices on my home network, and only get things that are compatible with Smartlife, Kasa, or VeSync. What made me even happier was that this one used the same mounting base the other one did, so I simply unscrewed that old one, disconnected the wires, connected them to this, and screwed it in. About 60 seconds of work. Smartlife saw it instantly, got it connected and renamed, and once again I have a reliable smart device I can voice control regularly. Gives enough light for the area, and I like the color bar on the top for when I just want indirect mood lighting.

THESE ARE TOTALLY FABULOUS!!! I bought five of them: one for each front and back porch abd front porch, three for my great room (living room/kitchen combo). First of all 100% brightness looks like an operating room, and 10% is enough to see fine, although I would pick somewhere in the middle. The 4-watt color backing looks GREAT. They can be set to any color. On Autism awareness day, I put them to all blue, for instant, but all five could be a different color. Here's a tip: Go to the effect, "Dazzling" on the scene panel (the other two selections are white and color) part, hit edit. Add all the available colors by hitting the plus button and choose up to all 8 available, there's a further slide bar that controls speed on the bottom. Slide all the way to the right. IT IS THE MOST AMAZING LIGHT SHOW THAT 'DAZZLES' EVERY VISITOR I HAVE!! Play with the settings and find one you love. I wouldn't have figured it out, but the neighbor came over and he is an artist and he came up with it. I am going to look for other combos, and I'm sure there's so many I haven't even thought of with my current fave "Go-To" look. I have two other units in the bedroom that are LED that I bought at Lowe's, but there are no where as cool as these, and I regret not getting these for there. However, I started with those rooms as both my EL CHEAPO construction bargain basement LED fixtures burned out. So 2 of 7 were burned out, and I had to replace them quickly. But even though not as cool as these, and that the ones from Lowe's in the bedroom are motion sensitive and can be annoying, I figured one of the remaining five were going to burn out any day, so I should get similar, dimming LED lights for the other rooms. But if not for the initial purchase, I would not have realized how cool LED dimming lights were in your home. I saw these as Amazon's Choice, and I have NEVER gone wrong with Amazon's Choice. When these went in, they were vastly superior to the initial LED's for the bedrooms. I simply didn't want the option of motion sensing in other rooms, so I got these and they are beyond expectations. My light bill PLUMMETED from $120 to $49, which is at 59.17 PERCENT CHANGE (I am a math teacher). I could go on and on, but take my word for it, they are great. As if I had any complaint, one of the five, a small strip of red along the circle doesn't work, and it is blank when the color is red, and absent during the 'dazzling' display. But instead of going through the rigamarole of taking it down and shipping it back, I figured I was so elated with the overall purchase, and it was so minor, I am just living with it. Even the most perfect-seeming thing can have one flaw! So, I am 99.9999999999 % satisfied! I highly, highly, highly recommend theses. I control them with an Android and an iPhone, and I just bought the newest Alexa Show, two of them actually, to control my Ring doorbell and the new outdoor and indoor Blink security cameras I just ordered. Those, and the new Firestick I bought control the lights by voice. I bet my old Firestick does too, I just never tried that. I don't know if I can leave a follow-up message, but if so, I promise to tell Amazon-land how that worked out for me. So I say do not dealy. Add these to your cart today. I buy on Amazon almost each day, and one day I got so many UPS boxes I told my super-nice UPS driver, "Don't smoke pot then Amazon!" (It's legal here, but just a joke!) Please read this initial review and the updates after it. Just received this light yesterday and installed it this morning. Installation was as fast as could be expected; I was able to use the existing bracket and holes from my old ceiling lamp. Connecting to the app and to Alexa was very straightforward. Note that the wall switch has to be on so the light gets power for Alexa to work to turn it back on. What is very nice is that the light remembers previous settings, so once I adjusted the color temperature and then used Alexa or the app to dim it, turning it off and on with the lights switch on the wall maintains the last settings. The colors are fun though a bit over-the-top for typical daily use, but what is nice is that you can adjust the color intensity, so I was able to find a nice Amber color to use for nightlight settings. --- Updating my review after a few weeks. I still like the light a lot, but two things about it make me less thrilled with it than before: 1. It is quite bright even at lowest setting. I have been able to use the light at the top (the color light) at low saturation as a night light, but I wish the main light could be dimmed more. 2. The scheduling feature in the app only lets you set times to turn the light off and on. Turning it on will turn it on to the last setting on the light. I WISH THERE WERE A WAY TO SCHEDULE A TIME AND A SETTING. For example, at 6 turn it on to 50%, at 11 set it to 25%, at 2 set it to red.

Very easy to install and connecting to Alexa was also easy. Brighter than expected

I was really excited when I first bought this light because it enabled me to change the color and the brightness of the light. I have this light in an entry area. Unfortunately, after having this device nearly a year, I am going to throw it away. Nearly every time that I turned it on, the light resets and starts flashing brightly. It's only supposed to do this if you turn it on and off very quickly three times, however, in practice this has happened unintentionally more times than I can count. Not simply from flipping the switch multiple times but sometimes just from turning it on and off quickly. The light forgets the Wi-Fi and flashes brightly at you until you can get the phone app out and re-add it. I'm not typically very sensitive with light but when it is dark out (as it often is in winter in a Midwestern state) this is extremely alarming. My kiddo is afraid to turn the light on because it resets and they can't do the app as it is on my phone. I would stay away from this product. It needs a complete redesign on how the pairing and reset process works In order to be functional.

I bought the two pack to replace some very dated lights in a very dark windowless hallway. I don't think this hallway has ever seen so much light! They're definitely bright! I had 2 fixtures with 2 60watt equivalent bulbs in each and one of these lights at 75% puts out more light than all 4 bulbs did previously. With both, I'm running it at ~20% and its brighter but in the same range as before. The instructions included make the connection and setup a breeze. I got things linked to my Amazon alexa and Google home accounts in short order and you can even sync them with each other so changes to one change all of them at the same time. The smart home app is nice for the customizable nature but the integration with Google home passes most of the features on while alexa only gives you a few color options. Lastly, wiring this up: do yourself a favor and get some wago lever nuts instead of trying to use the included wire nuts. If your home wiring is like mine, you probably have 14ga solid core romex and there was barely enough room in the included wire nuts for that wire alone. wrapping the stranded wire from this light and making a good connection likely isn't feasible. You could probably make it work but it's likely to be a poor connection (you shouldn't be able to pull the joined wires apart after putting on the nut) Unless you have some extra appropriately sized wire nuts, grab a pack of wago lever nuts and make your life easier.

I bought 2 other brands and this I can share with you: 1) Smart lights mean they work with an App, but may not work with Alexa or Google unless it says so. 2) Other manufactures LED may not be as bright and they may come with a remote, but frankly, who needs a remote if you want your LED to work with Alexa. 3) You need Alexa or Google Smart Home App to give voice commands. 4) Make sure your LED manufacture is listed in your Alexa App before you buy. 5) Connecting to your home router may require you to enter you SSID manually. (No big deal.) Conclusion: This Tolaya 12" LED Alexa capable Smart LED is a very well made product. It connects to the Smart Life App easily and quickly. Same goes for setting up Alexa. And the voice commands work very fast. Also, with Alexa App you can set routines to have your light turn on at a particular time and/or turn off. Love it! Just buy an Echo device and install Alexa App to control this Tolaya LED and you will be very pleased! (5-stars)

I had a smart bulb in the previous light, but it was not consistently functional with either Alexa or Google. The light connected right away using the Smart Home app, and Alexa and Google found it right away. This light reportedly worked with both, and I soon found out that it did, so far flawlessly. I am not a handyman but can do minor things, and this was easy enough for me to install. I found the installation easy with the exception of holding the light fixture up while I attached the wires. It should be noted that I do not have anyone to help, so you might need assistance. The instructions are straightforward in connections. There are two wires (no ground), a black and a white wire. The included hardware I found to be sufficient. The pictures I provided are hard to tell, but 2 are during daylight and 2 during nighttime (respectively in the photos). Also, respectively in each set are off and 100% settings, and then 50% and 100%. I don’t use the different colored settings, but I like that they are available. I did not try the different colors so I cannot comment on them. It sets almost completely flush with the ceiling. Yours might fit more closely. My old metal box fixture was slightly loose, and I did not try to find a way to secure it better, so that might have been the reason. I am happy with the fit, nonetheless. The light is very bright, is LED, saves electricity, and was reasonably priced for the features included. I do not find it to be the most aesthetically pleasing, but it’s not bad.
