How do you know it is charging? i have put in usb but no indication of charging.

When it's charging you can see a small red colour inside,but hard to see. When fully charged it will show green colour.

Will the beanie hat charge from a mkbile phone charger

The light charges using a USB port, whether using a usb plug or using a usb port on a laptop or computer

How long should I charge it each time?

It doesn't need long - only until the red charging LED turns green. I use a slow charger and it takes about an hour

I bought this as a gift. Should instruction leaflet have been included?

There are no instruction leaflets with these hats, it is however quite easy to recharge , just take the light gadget out of the hat, put them in a USB Charger and when fully charged replace the USB piece back into the hat, hope this helps
