Virginia's Run

I am a grandmother who discovered horses when I was a child in books and t.v and movies. I met them at state fairs, and once in a while was lucky to get a pony ride. Horses had no place in my parents world. I high school I used my babysitting money to sneak off with my best friend to a riding stable io miles from my horse from our neighborhood. I kept a pair of jeans in my friend's garage so I could change into them before we left for the stable, and which I could leave there when I changed into the pants I wore there. We brought lunches with us and rode the 10 miles on our bikes just to be around horses for an hour or so. If my parents had found out that would have stopped my riding! I know how horrible it is to wait and work for something so out of reach. I used this movie to take me back to my own childhood. I remember the good times, stolen moments, patience, love, and times of hardships that good values guided me through. it was a fun and restful time!

"Heartland" meets "Trailer Park Boys." I like both of those shows so of course I enjoyed this movie.

Virginia tried to keep her father from knowing how much she loved horses. After her father realized he could not keep her away from horses he got her the one she wanted. Teenage Virginia rode her horse in a long race against a cheating rich guy.

THIS WAS AN OUTSTANDING FAMILY FILM. THE VALUES OF FAMILY LIFE, TRIUMPH OVER ADVERSITY AND THE BONDING EXPERIENCE BETWEEN HORSE AND RIDER WERE BROUGHT INTO SHARP FOCUS. THIS IS A MOVIE THAT MAKES THE HEART GLAD AND THE SPIRIT SOAR. THE SCENERY, THE RIDING ADVENTURE AND INDEED THE ACTING WERE ALL WAY ABOVE LEVEL. AS A CLERGYMAN I HAVE INDEED ENCOUNTERED THE PAIN AND ANGST BROUGHT ON BY THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE. THIS FILM BRINGS HOPE AND THE GRACE OF HEALING AT EVERY TURN. MY SERMON FOR THE DAY: "CLOSE TO NATURE CLOSE TO GOD."

A movie showing life where money breeds bullies, A true family film

My daughter is really into horses and likes this movie. It’s an older movie but good!

Love the fact that the two sisters, one a teenager, the other a tweener, have a loving, affectionate relationship with each other and also with their dad. Unfortunately mom was killed while riding her horse, Twister, and Twister also expires in the movie's opening scene, while giving birth to Stormy, a beautiful roan colt. If you have a horse loving girl in the family this movie is a must. I would put it right up there with Moondance Alexander, and Flicka, Country Pride.

I liked the movie when they gave for the first time on TV and then to try to find the DVD in Italian but not finding him I bought it in English that you can see all the times I wanted.

Is a very wonderful feel good movie!!!

This is a wonderful movie which is suitable for both children and adults. An award winner. The setting is spectacular. The movie was shot in and around Shelburne Nova Scotia which I am most familiar with.
