Q: If i'm using actual records on 2 channels (not dvs) will the effects sync up to the bpm of the record?

The other answer is partially correct. This controller has like 8 different built in on board effects. The unfortunate part is they get assigned to what is typically the filter knob. So if you want on board effects you have to switch the effects assignment which will be a bit of a pain to do on the fly and then you have to essentially pick one effect per channel at any time.

Q: Can you use serato fx on this or just the built in roland ones?

Yes, you can control the FX on this controller. It works really well.
