Compact and Capable
Overall this OBDII Code Scanner delivers on all the basics and then some. It was able to quickly connect to my car. It clearly showed fault codes and clearing them was intuitive. I have a few other OBDII scanners/code readers (see photo) and this one pulls the same data (and more in some cases) as the others for OBDII data. On top of being able to read codes and clear them. You can use this to actually troubleshoot using the live data streams of the O2 sensors, A/F sensors, Long-term and Short-term fuel trims, as well as ~40 other live data pids. You also can view the Mode6 data. My older units will not pull Mode6 data and do not have air fuel sensor pids so it is showing as O2 pids even on newer cars with A/F sensors. All in all it does the job and for a $25ish code scanner this is a great bang for the buck. Side note, the cord measured 34" and was plenty long for me to use sitting in my front seat holding the unit. A couple things you should know that some may consider cons (but again it is a $25 tool) 1. You can not select a set of pids when viewing live data you scroll up and down to see the pids you want 2. There is no graphing of the streams 3. There are a lot of abbreviations so you may need to look up some to know what your viewing 4. Screen is on the small side (but that is also what makes it compact and convenient to store in a glove box) So even with the "Cons" for the price I feel you are getting a great tool that does the job it is meant to do so for me it is 5 stars.

Car Scanner
The 2025 EDIAG OBD2 Scanner is excellent! Setup was fast and the device connects easily to my car. It reads error codes quickly and gives clear explanations, which makes it simple to understand what’s going on with the vehicle. I was able to reset a check engine light in minutes and save a trip to the mechanic. The screen is easy to read, and the build quality feels solid. For the price, this tool is a great investment for DIY car maintenance. Highly recommended!

A good scanner with lots of features and info at a great price
I tested it on two of my working vehicles and it downloaded and displayed each vehicle's data with no problem. The scanner shows the test codes, parameters, and pass/fail. The test codes are not self-explanatory and some are vehicle-specific, so I had to look them up online. I also used the scanner for a check-engine-light error on a used truck I bought, but it did not detect any problems. It turns out that an O2 sensor was bad. The scanner can show O2 test results, but indicated the test wasn't supported for my truck (I don't know if it was due to the scanner's or truck's design). Still, I found the scanner easy to use and helpful.

Great Scan Tool, Small Package
What I like about the YA-101 1. It is small. I never have had a scan tool in my truck tool kit [now I do]. This is the perfect size to keep in the truck 2. While I can't speak to the availability of the lifetime updates on this. I do know that I have spent hundreds of dollars on an Innova scanner that will not work on any vehicles after 2014. I called Inova and they said that there will be no updates and it would only work as a basic scanner. Yawoa says it has lifetime updates, time will tell. 3. Live data on the status of the alternator is an asset. 4. The price for the YA-101 is perfect. My buddy said he paid over $50 dollars for his and it is currently not functioning. 5. Today Amazon Prime delivered my scan tool and no sooner than it was delivered my buddy called and asked if I could clear the code on his 2009 Saturn Outlook that we recently replaced the catalytic converter on. He tried to use his Actron PocketScan Plus and it would not clear the codes. The YA-101 worked without any problems. 6. I also used it today to read read and clear the check engine on another friends 07 Hyundai Sonata. I would highly recommend the YA-101. The price to performance ratio is unbeatable. The few friends I talked to about the scanner were all impressed and could not believe the price.

Hate it
Doesn’t connect to any of my six cars

Not the greatest.
There comes a point in the live data screen that it freezes up and has to be unplugged. Still works for reading codes but I can’t see all the live data. Ended up getting another code reader

You need this ..
I purchased this after my check engine light came on. I wanted to find out what was going on with my car. Plus I wanted to erase the codes until I could get the issue resolved professionally. This did that & more. Plus it helps you to not get ripped off since you can kinda know in a ballpark range the issue causing the light on the dash. Plus most places that read the codes for you don’t want to erase them. Now I have the option to do it myself. It’s a temporary solution but I like having it for now . Yes ! Those are my rough woman hands. I like tinkering around with my car . So don’t Judge me

Easy to use and has enough features to quickly troubleshoot vehicle codes. The build quality is great and the operation of the menu is intuitive to get around quickly to the section you need. Once the code is identified checking online makes describing the problem much easier to your mechanic. Handy size and does not require any batteries or charging as it runs off the vehicle. Great little addition to the tool kit.
