Best purchase I have made this year-- can now walk the dog without getting eaten up by mosquitos
This is one of the best purchases I have made this year. This jacket works great. I struggled with what size to order... I ordered the large (worrying that I may need an extra large), but the large is very generous, and fits very loosely, with plenty of room to spare, including the sleeve length. A garment of this type needs to fit loosely, and the Large I ordered does just that. I am 5'9 (male) and 190 pounds with a 44 chest size.It is very easy to put on and take off. The mesh is tight enough to keep even the smallest insects out, but does let air pass through -- I am still able to feel breezes (when there is a rare breeze to feel).I have been using this garment two to three times a day, every day since I received it, and it is holding up just fine. I live in the country and walk my large dog at least three times a day around our property. At night, I like to wear a 600 lumen headlight which frees up my hands for managing my large dog. By the time we are a quarter mile into our walk, I have a swarm of insects buzzing around my head that are attracted to the 600 lumen light. That was driving me nuts but this garment has solved that problem. The insects are still attracted to the light and swarm around me, but they cannot get to me, and they no longer are an irritant. This garment also solves the problem of walking face-first into spider webs, which also drove me nuts. With this garment, I may still accidentally walk into a spider web, but the garment protects me and the web does not get on me.This garment also keeps the mosquitos from being able to bite me, which is wonderful, especially since the mosquito-borne Zika virus as well as West Nile virus are both present where I live. The garment is extremely light weight, and folds up very compactly. You can stuff it into a large pocket (like a cargo pocket on cargo pants) if need be.I have machine laundered it (placing it inside a "delicates" protecting mesh bag) with out any problem or damage to the garment. You don't have to wear this with a hat, but wearing a hat with a brim makes it more effective since he mesh will drape further out from your face and neck. At night, I put on a boonie hat, then put on the Bug Jacket, then secure my headlight elastic straps on top of that -- it works great for me.

UPDATED: Bug jacket is worth the price!
I bought this for working bees, not for mosquito protection. After having used it for a few weeks, these are my observations. The fabric is a bit light, but at the price, it is easily replaceable. I am careful to keep heat away from the polyester material for fear it might melt. It is a pull-over jacket. The only zipper is at the neck so it is possible to get a drink if needed without removing the whole jacket.I have not been stung by any insects while wearing it.The jacket is cool to wear. Most bee jackets and veils leave me overheated and sweating. I've worked mostly in a t-shirt at times because it was easier to take stings than to suffer the heat, but this jacket fixes that.I may still sweat, but at least I can feel the breeze. Working around stinging insects can be stressful at times. Beekeepers who have used it have said it helped them relax and had a good field of vision as long as a cap is worn to hold the hood/veil away from the face and head.I wear a size Large. It is not form fitting, but loose enough so that bees land on it and do not get close to the skin. Make sure and check sizing before you buy! There are elastic straps to tighten at the waist and wrists so insects cannot get under the suit. The suit is machine washable, but I wouldn't try it in a dryer.Pros:Light and breezy.Good field of vision if a cap is worn under it.Not form fitting if sized appropriately.Straps allow jacket to be tightened at waist and wrist.Zipper at the neck allows for taking a drink without removing jacket.Con:If you can sew, you might want to go over the stitching to make it last longer, especially around the shoulder. That is one weakness in this jacket and would make it last a lot longer.
