A Sturdy, Simple, Basic Hammock Stand
I selected this particular stand because it is only 12 ft long when weighted (is about 14' when unloaded). It snaps together with spring loaded buttons in four places. Elbows attach the horizontal and diagonal beams, and they are welded to the legs, so if a weld breaks, you'll fall over sideways, and the poles won't fall on you. This is a much safer design than some other designs I've seen, where a broken weld would cause the support poles to fall straight down on you. I'm not worried too much about failure, I'm well under the posted 275lb weigh limit listed on the frame, and the welds look quality. The green paint job looks to be a good quality gloss enamel or mylar job, it will probably chip with time, but no biggie. The poles fit loosely into their sockets to make assembly easier. Unfortunately, this loose clearance allows to supports to lean out an extra two feet when no one is in the hammock. Once loaded, they tilt up and are secure, just a bit loose when the hammock is empty. I only have 12' of room on my patio, so I tied the ends of the two poles together with some rope to keep them under some tension, and keeping the length at 12'. This ridgeline also allows a bug net to be supported easily! There are two steel hooks bolted into the ends of the frame, and two ~12" lengths of chain with another hook allow some tension adjustment when hanging a hammock. The overall assembled weights feels like a bit less than 40lbs, so the frame can be moved/disassembled quite easily. I have a basic ripstop parachute hammock set up for now, and I have more faith in the frame than the hammock itself. Very good buy, especially with free shipping. My frame arrived about 3 days after purchase, very fast.

Easily the best hammock stand I've ever owned!
I bought the Algoma 4780G hammock stand to replace a stand bent by a section of fence blown over in a windstorm and couldn't be more pleased! The base is a little broader for increased stability, the sturdy pieces assemble and disassemble easily enough to take down in inclement weather or seasonally for prolonged life, and it can accommodate a range of hammock sizes. It even comes with some spare components. After setup I enjoyed a nice long afternoon reading and napping with a smile on my face!

Durabale hammock stand that is shipped in flimsy packaging
Ours is "bronze", which is a metallic glossy brown with a dimpled finish. It looks OK, but maybe a little tacky because of the metallic finish. I wasn't willing to pay $10+ more for a different color. Compared to other similar hammock stands we've owned over the years, this one looks a little more durable at the angle joint on the bottom at each end. Our previous hammock stands have all rusted through there and then collapsed as a consequence (always with someone lying on the hammock!), but the metal on this one looks a bit thicker in that area than those so we'll see if it lasts any longer. The instructions state this stand has a 500 lb load limit, which is the highest I was able to find at this price point. The box this thing comes in is 6' long and about a foot square. Our box had been ripped open and torn almost completely in half but someone, somewhere had taped the halves back together with packaging tape. Seriously? The styrofoam forms inside the box that I'm guessing are supposed to protect the product in shipping were smashed to bits. Seriously? When I opened the box I was expecting major damage and missing parts, but nothing was missing and there wasn't any damage except for one minor scratch to the finish and in the bag of spare parts (you get one extra of all the little bits), the spare end cap for the legs had been cracked in half. Since I didn't need it I didn't care, but honestly, THE PACKAGING IS NOT REMOTELY STURDY ENOUGH TO SURVIVE SHIPPING. That said, the product was almost entirely undamaged despite the poor packaging, so I hope that is a good sign about the durability of the product.

Perfect for indoor hammock-ing
So I have entered the world of indoor hammocks, bought myself an ENO Double Nest Hammock from REI and I needed a hammock stand that would fit inside my bedroom next to my Cali king sized bed.Borrowed my friends 15 footer hammock stand and found that it was way too big for my bedroom. Found this bad boy measuring 12' and compared to the product site was 50 cents cheaper. So a win for me ($99.50 total)You can take the hammock stand apart when not in use, it comes with 2 chains to attach your hammock to. The color is a dark green almost a dark pine. Comes with rubber stoppers for the floor. Total assembly was 2 minutes (I was entertaining my 4 year old). Dis-assembly was less.Took about 5 days from ordering to getting it (bought online on a Sunday got it on a Friday), I live in the boonies too.Overall if you are looking for a "smaller" hammock stand this is the way to go, cheers.

Very sturdy material, easy to set-up. This is a no-brainer, 10/10 would buy again.
I'm a big dude (6'1", 280 lbs) and feel perfectly safe on this thing. The metal tubes are thick and feel very secure. I bought this to go with an LL Bean hammock that is 13" long and it works perfectly, no adjustments or extra chain needed. If this is going in your grass where you are going to need to mow, do yourself a favor though and buy a wheel accessory attaches to one of the poles so that you can move it around, because this thing is awkward to move once it's assembled. That being said, set-up and disassembly are a breeze thanks to the locking pins, so if you need to store it for the winter you will be able to without any issues.

Nice looking coating though
Won't got together because coating on pipes make the inner diameter of the "large" pipe bigger than the outer diameter of the pieces they connect too. Nice looking coating though.

Might be bigger than you expect
I purchased this with the Algoma 4910 Two Point Tight Weave Caribbean Hammock and I love it. The hammock is beautiful and it works with the stand perfectly. The stand is heavy and seems very well made. The one thing that was a little surprising to me is how big it is. I knew it would be big and I have seen these type of stands in Lowes and other places but this was a little larger than I expected. It wasn't a big deal because I had room for it. But if you are someone looking to fit this in a smaller space you may want to make sure it will fit in your area. Overall though, I am very happy with the look and quality of the product. Also it was very easy to assemble.
