Q: For those who make raw pet food with this, any ideas on how to grind the bones without it clogging? There is plenty of power, but when I try to grin

I have lessened my bone clogs by adapting which bones I use. My recipe includes quail, chicken breast and turkey breast among others but these are the only bones I use and I further supplement with bone meal. The quail and ribs bones are small and easy to break so the grinder seems to handle them well. Before grinding I use a cleaver or large knife to chop the bones and other meat hunks. I usually stop once or twice to remove a clog but that's a lot less than my first few tries.

Q: ...also, are there stainless steel replacements for the disks? These look like they will rust any minute.

Thanks but the oil that's on them from the factory smells like axle grease, not an edible oil. How did you remove it? What kind of oil do you use on them? Thanks.
