Q: I would like to purchase one but the reviews of the shakey connections to the wifi staying is putting me off, How do I know I will get one that connec

I own 4 Ocean Digital radios, and I have not found 'shaky connections' to be a problem at all. I suspect those who have may have poor WiFi in their homes or may have interference from some other source. Of course, any WiFi connection can falter from time to time. These radios are just little computers with one main function: to make it easy to connect to broadcast sources without typing in everything as you would on a computer. That said, if you get a defective radio, you will not have any problem as Amazon will take care of it one way or another.

Q: Does this internet radio access am stations or only fm stations?

Just FM, DAB, and internet radio stations. No AM, but most of our favorites, locally, nationally, and internationally, have an internet stream. Ocean Digital has a great set of possible stations: over 26K. I doubt you will have much trouble finding yours.

Q: The previous responses seem unclear. can you stream sirius xm on this radio as i can on my phone and any pc with my subscription and password?

Yes, you can connect your phone or pc to the unit via Bluetooth. That way, you can hear XM, but the display on the unit will only say "Bluetooth." You'll only see the XM UI on the phone or pc.

Q: What is the difference between ocean digital wr230s vs wr 280s?

Their biggest similarity is that they both have stereo speakers. The biggest dissimilarity is the remote. The 230 has the OD traditional remote with a number pad, powered by two AA's. The 280 has a much simpler remote with no numbers, powered by CR225 'lozenge' battery. So, with the 230 you can access any of your favorites by number; with the 280 you must scroll through the list. Not deal-breaker. No other major differences, in sound or performance.
