Drive Genius 4, Speed Up, Clean up & Protect Your Mac, Used By Apple Genius Bar

i'm using it on Mac OS 10.10.6 - yosemite. It doesn't work as directed - upon insertion of the thumb drive, i received a pop-up notice to contact the manufacturer. STILL waiting for valid instructions to get the Drive Genius to work as advertised... will keep you posted. Because i have two Mac laptops - i bought one CD version and the other the thumb drive version [because the latter laptop doesn't have a built-in CD Drive]. Neither format work, as of this writing, at least.

Drive Genius was not able to repair either of my external disks. I replaced one and reformatted the other.It also forecast replacement of my internal disk. I was able to reboot to the thumb drive, and duplicate my old external to the new ssdd drive. Took several hours, but worked perfectly. I would have given 5 stars if Drive Genius had been able to repair either external drive. Both backup drives were a total loss.

The clear plastic container had been opened w/ a repair service ad inserted. I guess because they knew it would ruin my computer. It did! I called their technical support. They were rude and denied that the program had anything to do with my problems. I'm working with Apple support to fix it now. Before I loaded the program my computer was fine, immediately afterward I couldn't get on the internet even though I have a strong signal.

Multiple problems with itunes and emptying trash, failure to recognize hard drives. Program very difficult to remove, spent an hour with apple support. Prosoft refused to allow me to return program. Thank god for Amazon.

Outstanding product, easy to use. Only problem I had was I had to contact Prosoft as the Serial number did not come with the Amazon packing.

Need this to keep my Mac from running slow. PEOPLE YOU NEED AN OIL CHANGE FOR A CAR, and THIS for your computer

Sorry but i dont like it

I've been running Drive Genius and Drive Pulse for a couple of years. It used to run in the background on a regular basis, but quit doing so several months ago. I've written to air tech support, who were not able to help: even though it's not running, they assure me that it is.I imagine if I had a sever issue that this might be of some help. As a background maintenance product, not so much.

Didn't help with my computer problem, so I'm disappointed, and I considered it over-priced compared with similar gadgets.

I own several MacBook Pros and my ultimate defence against disaster is Diskwarrior, which also comes on a memory stick. Drive Genius is very similar in function and presentation and it too is now available in memory stick form. Which is best, Diskwarrior or Drive Genius? I can only add that I have known and used Diskwarrior for longer than Drive Genius. Both are capable of restoring a seriously sick Mac' back to rude health.Unlike regular applications, each memory stick includes a mini version of OS X along with a suite of diagnostic & repair routines. Rather than attempting to boot a sick Mac' using its internal drive (mechanical or electronic), the Mac' is booted from the memory stick and the included diagnostic & repair routines bring the Mac' to perfect health, whereupon, the Mac' is restarted from its on drive.Drive Genus (or Diskwarrior) are not software tools that will be used a great deal. Hopefully they will never be used but computer disasters do happen. I cannot decide which is better, Drive Genius or Diskwarrior, but in my experience both work remarkably well. I have therefore given Drive Genius top marks.Please note, neither of these software tools will resurrect a Mac' that has suffered a hardware failure.
