If you're thinking about getting it, just get it.
I used this for an automotive rig setup. I was a bit hesitant at first due to the price, but went ahead and ordered it anyway. I'm happy I did, as it is a versatile, well built piece of equipment that will last a good while. It is well worth the price, in my opinion.

Well Made, Stays Where You Want To
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because it isn't quite long enough for what I needed, and you have to have the Super Clamp if you want to use it on anything other than a tripod. I use it on the edge of my desk, with the super clamp, and it does not move, it stays exactly where I put it, even with my Nikon D810, heavy lens, and other devices (Camranger, etc). I wanted to use this to shoot directly overhead but its not long enough for that. Do what I did not do, use a measuring tape to make sure this will be long enough for you. If it is, yea, its a great product.

Buyer beware
You can't remove the tripod plate from the magic arm; so, therefore, you always have to have a camera attached to one end of the device.

No other comes close!
If you want the very best, that is why you came to this product in the first place, and you will not be sorry. You need to purchase a Manfrotto Super Clamp to use this product to its full potential. I purchased this for automotive photography use, such as clamping to poles, railings, etc around the edge of the race track to be fired with PocketWizard’s, and there is no match to this for ease of setup and adjustability! I wish I had 10 of these for all my cameras. I also use this on my vehicle as a chase/camera car with a suction cup or Super Clamp with a GoPro or other camera mounted to it. It has been up to 70mph partially extended no problems. At full extension, under wind, or vibration circumstances it will wobble a bit. But nothing too noticeable unless you are doing video, and chances are, it will not be fully extended most of the time. I absolutely love this product, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to mount their camera in out of the ordinary places.

If you've ever used one of these, you realize how many problems they can solve
These things are great and I have 4 of them at this point. If you ever need to mount a thing to another thing, and have it be a rock solid mount, then these things are like magic. The quick release arms are great for cameras and accessories. I use 2 of them with an SLR and a ring light to mount to the side of my desk and once you tighten them up, they won't budge. It saves me tons of room not needing 2 c clamps next to my desk for camera and lighting.

Mixed on this
Worksmanship is the usual excellent that manfrotto produces. I ordered it for table top vid recording in the face down position. Haven't had a chance to try it for that yet. Thought there would be many uses for it and I always get close... but there always ends up being a better way. Nothing to do with it yet :-) Still glad to own it though. Maybe I'm just loyal to Manfrotto.

Life Saver!
This thing is amazing! I'm not sure how I lived without it before. I can put a camera, monitor or mic anywhere with this! Be sure to pick up the option Manfrotto clamp to really get the most of this.

BEWARE BUILD QUALITY
Great arm! I use it for work daily and it does what it's supposed to for a while. The main weak point is the brass hex nut in the locking knob which will eventually strip and you will lose any tightening adjustment. Replacements can be bought on the Manfrotto spare parts website for $15 USD but for $200 you would expect this thing to be almost indestructible, the best workaround I've found is to buy a steel hex nut with the same thread pitch and dimensions as the brass one. You'll have to heat up the brass hex nut with a torch to soften the plastic and then knock it out with a punch and hammer. If the brass hex nut comes out cleanly without the surrounding plastic breaking you should be able to fit the steel hex nut and have a working magic arm again. Kind of annoying process, but it will last a lot longer.

I didn’t find many reviews on actual supported weight. This arm holds my setup securely. It will not hold the camera in any angle but will hold it in some. A little pricy but great quality.

Excellent product, well made, easy to use. The arm adjusts and tightens easily to any angle. Quick release mechanism so easy to use. Holds a good weight without any movement. I have used a camera and lens about 1 kg, iPad and holder, phone and holder and small/medium size projector.
