Adjustable Motion Sensor - PIR Product Features:
The PIR (Passive Infra-Red) arduino motion sensor is a sensor that detects sudden changes in infrared rays caused by the movement of surrounding objects. The hc-sr501 arduino contains crystal material in the sensors. When these materials are exposed to infrared radiation, a voltage is induced thereon. As the intensity of radiation increases, so does the amount of tension. A sudden change in the infrared signals in the environment indicates that an object is moving. The working principle of PIR sensors is to capture these sudden movements and generate a signal. The motion detection sensor comes with an installed circuit. There are 3 pin outputs in this circuit. One of these pins is supply, the other is earth and the last one is the output of digital signal generated when the object is detected. This signal output is set to 3.3V. There are 2 trimpots on the sensor board. These trimpots are used to optimize the sensor settings. The trimpot Sx is used to adjust the viewing distance of the sensor from 3 to 7 meters, while the trimpot Tx is used to determine the number of seconds the logic output remains at logic-1 after it detects an object. This value ranges from 5 to 300 seconds.
