Q: Is the material any different than that of compression pants? Will the brace itself slide out of place if worn over compression shorts?

The brace does not slide on this material. It is not slick. I love them. I have purchased 2 and will purchase more as these wear out.

Q: is 16-26 (large) length or circumfrance?

The length of the sleeve is about 19".... the circumference is about 20"...the sleeve does stretch and the brace fits over nicely.. There brace does slide a little but makes it a little more comfortable.

Q: does this undersleeve have a seam running down it?

Yes, the seam is flat and double stitched. I wore mine every day for 9 months. The seams to become a point of failure but you can hand stitch them back together.
