Mary Kay Clear Proof Blemish/Shine Control Toner

i've tried everything to get my acne under control, both over the counter and prescription. literally everything. starting in middle school, ive always had severe face and back acne. in 2012, my dermatologist and i decided to give accutane a try. it worked well and has permanently lessened the frequency of my breakouts. however, although my breakouts are more infrequent, the ones that form now tend to be cystic and persisted longer than the acnes i got before accutane. to give you an idea, the last three years i would get at least one huge pimple on my face every month. the pimple would develop for a week and no matter what acne cream i used on it, it would never subside. Eventually when i get too frustrated with it, I would pop it or it would pop on its own but only a portion of the whitehead would come out and some would still be stuck in the pore. I would then have a scar for several weeks which would never heal over because a bit of the whitehead could never be extracted. it was depressing and frankly, i wasnt sure if i was happier with my face before or after accutane. then one day, my coworker, who is a mary kay rep, introduced me to the clearproof line of acne products and gave me the travel sized kit that came with the facewash, toner, moisturizer, and spot treatment. I especially liked the facewash gel and blemish control toner (im not big on moisturizers because my skin already get way too oily on its own). Since I started using the mary kay products about half a year ago, my skin has improved significantly. It feels smoother and the toner really helps to prevent and deal with the cystic acne. In the past, the cystic acne would be around for 3 weeks or longer. Now, when i feel acne forming, I dab a cotton pad with the toner and hold it over the acne for a couple minutes; the acne would develop but it would resolve itself within a week. No more lingering acne or scars or whiteheads. now, i am much more confident and less self conscious about my acne. i'm not saying that i no longer get acne but since using the clearproof toner on a regular basis, my breakouts have decreased ALOT ALOT and i no longer get the terrible cystic acne that i got after accutane. My acne heals faster and my complexion looks brighter. it's really a great product. of course, everyone's skin is different and what works for me may not work for you. what i've come to realize is that we have to discover the products that our body responds well to and, more importantly, to develop a habit of taking extra care of the places where we get acne. I stopped using a razor for shaving (i now use an electric buzzer razor), i dont use face washes that have exfoliating beads (i believe it is too harsh and caused the acne bacteria to be introduced into deeper layer of my skin contributing to my cystic acne), i do a clay mask two to three times a week (this replaces the harsh exfoliating face washes i used to use and is a gentler way of exfoliating the skin) and i wash my face three times a day - once in morning, once after lunch and once before bed and apply the toner after each wash (i used to not wash my face in the middle of the day). i'm just relieved that i finally, at age 28, have figured out how to get my acne under control! it's so frustrating having breakouts and have to go to work looking like that. I hope you give this product and the whole clear proof line a try, it's made a huge difference in my life and i hope it does the same for you too! And if it doesn't, don't despair, there's something out there for everyone, you just have to be patient and keep at it!

This is a great skincare product. When it arrived, the cap was loose and some leaked out. The majority was still there, so I chose to keep it. That could have happened in shipping.

This item was opened and leaked all over the packaging. There may be 1/2 of this product left. Very disappointed. Tried to refund or return and could not.
