What Bluebirds Do

Excellent book, beautiful photos throughout, and just enough words to explain what the bluebirds are doing on each photo. Perfect for our young grand daughters to see up close. We have many eastern bluebirds in our yard and three bluebird houses in various locations. Several bluebird families have started in these houses every summer. Their blue color is so vibrant and beautiful. And this book has certainly captured their life cycle beautifully.

I purchased a bluebird house last year that was made by the Sawyers who are mentioned in the Author's Note. I really knew nothing about bluebirds but had some nesting in my bluebird house. The book helped me to understand bluebird behavior and to identify the bluebird fledglings after they left the nest -- they don't look anything like they look when they're grown. I loved the gorgeous pictures. My bluebirds are nesting for the 2nd time this year and I'm looking forward to seeing more babies soon.

Very easy text and my special needs child could co-read with me. We were checking on blue boxes for a conservancy project and this helped tremendously.

Not only is this book informative, it's also filled with the most beautiful pictures of Bluebirds! A must-have!!

I read this book to my second graders as part of a unit on wildlife. They loved it and keep returning to it to reread it. The authors did an excellent job portraying the life cycle of their backyard birds. They also explained the different types of bluebirds and inspired my students to want to build a bluebird box in our outdoor classroom!
