Niles RS8Si Sandstone Pro Weatherproof Rock Loudspeakers

Extremely high quality! Installed a week ago and I could NOT be happier! The sound from this single speaker with dual tweeter is incredible! I am using it in SI single speaker mode so I have both left and right channels hooked up to it. It looks great, it sounds great and it seems very well built! I searched all over locally for this item and Amazon had the lowest price direct through Niles. I can't really say it better than this review by BassHeadSpeakers.com: [...]The speaker was easy to install and connect, the kit included 2 outdoor silicone filled wire nuts as well as a security cable. If you don't have a lot of room or if you don't want to cramp your patio or deck, this is the way to go without losing out on sound quality. The low end is amazing and highs as well as the mid range is phenomenal!

It is adequate for an outdoor "rock" speaker. The paint and shape is very realistic. The speaker is loud, even at low amplifier volume will cover a good size yard, something to consider during quiet evenings or a late night party with friends. There are plenty reviews on the positives of this product and I agree with them, I'm sharing mostly reasons for giving 3 stars:1. The overall size is larger then envisioned, it is important to measure and plan ahead the location.2. In one-speaker stereo mode, the RS8SI produce an "interesting" stereo image, not bad, but not something that I would immediately expect.3. The two stereo channels are not electrical separated, the 3 pole/ 4 Ohm design may not be friendly with some integrated amplifiers.4.The tweeters are louder that the woofer at low power. At higher amp power the sound maybe be fine, however the neighbors may not be happy.5. The two tweeters are not reproducing the same frequencies, the RS8SI sounds more like a 3 way stereo speaker (softer mid range/tweeter on one channel a sharper tweeter on the other channel, common woofer), or maybe I got a defective speaker?. Best performance is in two-speaker stereo mode, tying everything together on the same channel, impedance goes as it should to 8 Ohm, not that loud, but great sound.6. The manual does not contain a basic diagrams for connections. From page 12 to 14, it contains confusing verbiage that could be easier replaced with simple diagrams for connecting the speaker to an amplifier in various modes. There is only one diagram provided "Speaker wire preparation" (how to strip wire, seriously?). Plenty diagrams are given on how to connect an outdoor volume control that is not part of this product and security anchorage that may not be so important for residential use in my town.Overall, the sound is clean, maybe on the sharp side for the one-speaker stereo mode. I' will buy another speaker for impedance reasons, stereo imaging and to improve sound quality. Probably in two-speaker configuration I may give another star. The penalty for the lack of connection diagrams won't go away until the manual is revised.

Just replaced a 15 year old pair of Stereostone rock speakers with these. All I can say is "Wow, are you kidding!" These rock speakers are UNBELIEVABLE. I can't believe how much the technology has improved in that time. The main reason for buying these was my need for more bass and these do not disappoint. Read numerous reviews on the Niles RS8SI and could not agree more on how great they sound. I suggest you grab them while they are on sale! !

Our house and pool was damaged by Hurricane Harvey. I took this picture of our pool. It’s down there underneath about 5 feet of water. What caught my eye was the RS8 floating about. After the water receded, I cleaned them up and they fired right up. What a great product! They still sound fantastic.

Very impressive rock speaker. The sound exceeds my expectations. This is a great product and a very good purchase. I have had several other manufacturers rock speakers for my backyard that cost significantly more then the Niles RS8I, but none of them even come close to the quality and clarity of sound from this speaker! 5 stars and two tumbs up for this product!

I called niles directly about these because they were so cheap. They said they discontinue colors and that's probably why and if that is the cost $189 for these speakers that are over $300 you should buy them. We did and we were not disappointed.

This speaker really puts out the music. Very impressed by the quality and depth of sound coming from this!Sandstone is a very light tan color, hoping weathering will make it look more natural in my backyard. Very well built.Highly recommended!
