Great Filter Pads For Tidal Aquarium Filter
I used the original filter sponge on the bottom, then used the black, blue, and green. Added my Bio Media on top. Interesting to note that originally I only had the once Coarse Filter on the bottom, with Bio Media and some Pinky's on top, and seem to be getting significantly more flow than I was before. Many people say the blue and the black look the same, and that nay be true, But Hold them up to the light, and you will see that the blue is more dense than the black. They were also much easier to cut than I anticipated. I used a box cutter and they came out perfectly. I'm anxious to see the effect they have on my filtration.

Excellent Value Filter Foam — Versatile, Reusable & DIY-Friendly
If you're looking for budget-friendly, pliable filter media to build or upgrade a pond or aquarium filter—and don’t mind doing a bit of DIY trimming—this LTWHOME foam set is a smart pick. It’s sturdy, effective, and suited to both mechanical and biological needs. Just be aware that the labeled porosity levels may not be dramatically distinct, and cleaning coarse foam takes patience.

it is true one fine and 2 course
good deal for the money how ever if Your looking to have 3 sizes then Your out of Luck . what I did for my ehiem pro 4 was this , I used one course and one fine on the bottom tray , then topped that off with a aquatic experts 100 micron polishing pad . That completely filled the trays height , I would not have had room to add a third pad anyway . No big deal to me but some watching pimp my filter who ordered this will be very disappointed as mine came with 2 course and one fine thus the 4 stars. They do work clearing up my tank nicely ! Just have some polishing pad on hand

Clear water, finally!
I have a 60 gallon freshwater Uniquarium and I have tried so many different options including polyfil, other brands of sponges, chemical clarifiers and in tank cartridge filters and these BY FAR work the best. I cut them to size and put them in the filter chambers. Every couple weeks, I know they need changed because the water level creeps up. I remove them, stick them in the clothes washer (quick cycle, cold water, no soap), then rinse them in dechlorinated water and stick them back in the filter chamber. I have a separate chamber for bio balls, so this does not disturb my bio filter. I have been doing this for 1 year now and just returned to purchase more since they are falling apart. I did not expect them to clear the water up so well and I did not expect them to last for so long. I am very happy with this purchase and will continue to use them.

Great value, 3 colors Course , medium & fine
I also watched the “pimp my filter” YouTube video and ordered. I see some reviews saying that the black and blue are both the same. However mine are different, very slightly one is course one medium, not sure you can see difference in my pics, but using magnifier I can definitely see the difference, it’s a small difference. I still will use the polishing pad on top upper basket tray as in video . As for other reviews I’m not sure, maybe there was an issue at some point in manufacturing. That being said very happy with purchase & when I order again hopefully get the correct media again

Clean, clear water
I have been using these filters for about a year and a half now and they do an absolutely fantastic job in my under tank filtration system, although I did add a polishing pad about six months ago the condition of the water really hasn’t changed all that much that I could see, I have a 55 Gallon tank with about 50 various fish and life plants, I am extremely happy with the outcome, the pads are very easy to clean by simply rinsing them off in warm running water, I change them out every 7 to 9 months, I can cut two pieces out of one sheet so these last quite a while. I definitely recommend these products if you are looking to change from over the side filtration to under tank filtration system

Works!
No pet stores carry this anymore, no arts and crafts type of stores had anything even similar. I’ve used this is many DIY filters I’ve made, and more recently in adapting canister filters to hold a ton more media. These foams are absolutely perfect, and work as they should. I’ve seen complaints about the foam all being coarse but no way. Coarse, medium and fine, as stated. Certainly not fine enough to do all the work, but that’s what polishing pads (or fiber fill) are for. Great stuff. Will be buying more.

Product discrepancies! Read if you are “pimping” your filter!
I purchased this foam after watching pondguru’s “pimp my filter” for the fx6. His suggestion is to replace the large white coarse foams with a coarse and a medium pond foam sandwiched together. When the package arrived it was evident my black and blue sponges were identically coarse. The green is MUCH more fine than either other color. There is no coarse-medium-fine in the two packages I bought. Now comparing to other customer photos here on Amazon I have concluded the manufacturing is either NOT uniform or they aren’t making them correctly anymore. I reached out to Richard (pondguru) and he said the green looks like the medium he sells, so those of you looking at this product to “pimp” your filter, he suggests using either blue or black for coarse and green for medium. Hope this helps!
