Good Product
It works well and offers much higher compatibility with RS-232 devices than those problematic usb to serial port units.Windows 7 64 bit found the drivers it needed for this card all on its own. But had some issues with VMWare.Recommended.

Just needed to add a serial port to a new computer and this fit the bill and does what it is supposed to do.

Mini CD almost impossible to load if CD tray is vertical in your machine. Otherwise works great if your machine is all USB.

I never could get my computer to recognize the card ...
I never could get my computer to recognize the card and admit I am not a tech person. I gave up and used the Tera Grand - Premium High Speed USB 2.0 to Serial RS-232 DB-9 Converter - Supports Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000, 98, Linux and Mac - with FTDI Chipset. It worked without any issues.

New Life for Old UPS Thanks to this Card
This is the second PCI-e RS-232 card I've tried, and this one worked! My application was connecting an old APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (Model BK650MC) to my HP Windows 7 64 bit computer, and having the UPS detect a "no power" condition, communicate it to the computer, and shut it down. It works very well. I used the APC PowerChute Business Edition Software (version 9.1.1).

Fixed a longstanding problem with credit card device
We use Verifone 1000SE pin pads (serial connector) at some client locations, and since Dell dropped the serial port on their SFF systems, we had been trying to use USB to serial adapter, but that was causing a lot of instability.This card in one fell swoop eliminated all communication issues we were having with the USB to serial adapter cable. So, until serial finally goes away, this will be an essential product for us.

Solved problem other serial card had
Bought two of these to solve a problem with a 32-bit Windows 7 installation that previously had a single card with dual serial ports. Windows would hang every couple of days, sometimes multiple times a day and required rebooting with the old dual port card. Windows 7 has been running for days now without a problem using two of these StarTech.com serial cards. Thank you for solving this problem for me.

Interfaccia solida, ben costruita, facile da montare e con il driver semplice da installare.Ho risolto brillantemente la mia esigenza di interfacciare il mio nuovo pc con una unità esterna che usa la RS232.Peccato che il prezzo è un pò elevato....
