Yes, the long handles give you leverage to push the thickest dough (the best dough) quickly through the holes. This has been a great spaetzle machine for us.

Q: I had a potato ricer that has two different discs. It broke the other day (bent out of shape with a tough potato). I was looking for a spaetzle maker and came across this. Can I use this as a spaetzle press and potato ricer? Looks like I can but not sure if the holes are big enough. I would not spend $70 on a tool…

We have never used our spaetzle maker as a potato ricer, but my wife says that is one of the advertised uses. She feels comfortable with the device being used as such. Good luck!

9 inches max, the noodles are pushed out quickly and can be cooked immediately, this depends on the noodle dough used, this is specially designed for spaetzle

Q: Is this easy to clean in the dishwasher?

I love this machine and use it often. The enclosed recipe turns out the classic spaetzle of my childhood memories. I usually soak the machine before washing it in the dishwasher. Do not let the dough dry on the machine
