Great protection, silly port cover, works with Whitestone Dome Glass
I've always been a fan of the otter box, and this one is no exception. I'm really happy that this series has foregon the built in screen protector, as previous defender series cases had terrible plastic. I'm really happy with the level of durability, and I love the way the case goes together around the phone. It's quite difficult to remove however, so keep that in mind. My only real complaints are that the USB port cover isn't flexible enough so it pushes on the cable. I'm not sure of good that is long-term for the USB port. Plus the stress it puts on the rubber I fear will perminantly warp it at the button degrading appearance. Additionally, the back of the rubber part sags a bit away from the plastic, which is noticeable mostly around the fingerprint sensor cutout. It just looks and feels a bit weird that it seems slightly loose back there. I am using this case (Otterbox Defender) with the Whitestone Dome glass screen protector. It fits perfectly in this case, allowing just enough room around the glass to prevent the case from lifting it up, but not so much as to be a noticeable gap.

I'm a pretty average sized guy - and yes it does
OK, I'll try to answer a few of the questions I had before buying this case: Is it big? Yes.Length 6.64 in (168.7 mm) Width 3.47 in (88.1 mm) Height 0.57 in (14.5 mm) (why the heck is this info so hard to find?) Will it fit in my pocket? I'm a pretty average sized guy - and yes it does, but it bulges a bit. Not fashionable, but not that noticeable with normal to loose fitting pants. Skinny jean wearers beware - or use the belt holster. Does it have a screen protector? No Does it work with the Whitestone Dome Screen Protector ? Yes. There's a very small (less than 1mm gap between the inner lip of the front frame of the case and the edges of the protector. I think that's a good thing, as you don't want to put sideways pressure on the protector which might make it pop off. Does it work with the normal size Ram Mount X Grip car/motorcycle mount? - not really. You'll need a bigger one. Why I like this case: It's super sturdy. The front frame is deep enough to keep the screen from impacting on a front drop - even with a rather thick screen protector on it. The buttons work great. The nonslip grip is outstanding. Is it worth $50? I broke my last phone (with no case) dropping it on concrete - my daughter regularly drops her otterbox defender on tiles/concrete/asphalt...and her phone is fine. So for me, with a brand new expensive phone, this case is definitely worth it..

Great case and holster for Pixel 2XL
I used the same case for my original Pixel. Besides not having the built in screen protector (which actually seems to trap dust behind it) the version seems like it is not as bulky besides being on a larger phone. Only thing I have to get used to is it clips into the holster upside down compared to original pixel one which clipped the phone in camera down which was a natural way to clip it. Now I just have to remember to flip it over before clipping it into the holster. No big deal. Great quality product to protect my phone.

Always a good choice
We've used defender cases on our note 3s for the past 5 years. The only issues have been the rubber exterior starts to crack at the flaps that serve to cover the plug ports. And if you had to remove your batteries a lot like we did, over time, the tiny tabs that hold the plastic halves together eventually wear down or break. And the rubber might not fit quite as good as it did but it's not bad after five years of regular use. These cases are with it. They protect like few other cases can. And if you think "I'll just get insurance" yeah you can. And spend more money and effort in the long run. I've recently goofed my old note 3 to my father in law after loading a community rom and the case is still working great. So how do these cases compare? Well they have the great solid protection of the rubber shell around a plastic shell. Unfortunately they don't have the plastic screen protector that worked so well but there isn't a good way to do that with these beveled screens. And the glass is better. Just don't drop it on anything that's pointed and wouldn't be repelled by the bevel of the case. The buttons are firm but responsive through the rubber and there are no issues with sound quality no matter how you use it (speaker, ear piece, etc). I don't use the belt clip but it is useful, especially with this large format. If it was a little cheaper and a touch tougher I'd give it 5 stars hands down. That said, you will be very hard pressed to find a case that will truly protect your phone.

Great product.
I think I'm a lifelong supporter of Otterbox. This case is amazing, super heavy duty, does it's job of protecting my phone. The company is great, stands behind their products. On my last phone they replaced my hip clip for free when I dropped it off of my pants onto concrete. A lot of people won't like the plastic screen protector, but I think you could just cut it out and use a tempered glass one if you wanted. I may try that once it gets good an scratched up.

it's perfect
I had this same case series for my Pixel XL, and it protected my phone well. Love this one even better than the one for the Pixel XL. This one, for the Pixel 2XL, first I love the color options, the deep purple with pink accent is perfect for me. Secondly, there have been a couple of improvements. It fits into the holster better, and you can tell it is securely in because it makes a loud snap sound as it clicks in. Another improvement is that the phone fits in upside down, ie, top pointed down. When you remove it from the holster, it is already in position. The older model, I had to flip the phone end to end as I brought it up to my face. I just upgraded from the Pixel XL to the Pixel 2XL and just got the case, 2 weeks ago. I like it so much, I ordered a second one as a backup. My case for my Pixel XL, I caught the holster clip on a camp chair as I sat down, and broke it, so I had to order a second one to get another clip holster. The case itself was fine and never had to be replaced. So I have a backup for this one already . . .

Not worth the price for this particular otterbox
So, I've been using this case for over a year now. Really not as good as my iPhone otterbox. It is still holding together, and does somewhat protect my phone, IF it doesn't fall on the screen. No screen protector comes with it. I can use my phone just fine with the cover. But, the back started gaping open a bit at the fingerprint recognition site after a few months. I take my phone to very dusty places, and this cover does very little to prevent the dust from seeping in where the case doesn't seal. The claim is that this will protect from dust, but I'd definitely say that it only kept dust out for 3 months. I've had several otterboxes, and liked them. But the one for this phone just falls short in both protection, durability, and sturdiness.

Purple Otterbox for Google Pixel 2xl
This Otter box for Google Pixel 2xl is a great phone case. The phone case only cost $29.99 and free shipping. It is very durable and holds up very well. They do not make them with screen protectors anymore incase you have a phone with a curved screen but its fine cause I have a screen protector I can put on my phone. Other then that this phone case is worth the money. I love it and the color.
