Grandson wants to learn German and is 10 years old. This is very age appropriate for him and the pictures are great.

This book is useless. Clearly written by someone who is not a native speaker either of English or German. Example of one of the many mistakes: “Bug” which shows a picture of an insect, translated into “fehler” which means mistake. Like a bug in the code. “Stick” which shows a picture of a match (a small stick of wood), which is translated as “klebt” which is the verb “sticks” like it sticks together. Also, the word “yak” is not a basic vocabulary word in any reality I know of. Yaks don’t occur commonly in any German or English speaking country I know of. What a cheap POS. not worth the paper it’s printed on.

The book title says flashcards... but this is a flip book with 6 images per page and the English and German word for each picture. You can't even cut out the pictures because there would be another unrelated image on the back.

As I started going through this book with my son, I found an large number of errors. for instance, the English word for "Plane" as in "Airplane" (there is even a picture of an airplane, is translated as "Ebene", which actually means "floor", as in levels of a house, the first floor, second floor, etc. The words for "Pretty" and "bin' (like trash bin) were also wrong. This is so poorly done that my ex and I have been having to go over the whole book and fix the German words before our son learns it all incorrectly.

Some translations are totally absurd. All the pictures on the inside are poor quality, black and white and not easy for a little child child to figure out what is they are looking at.

The print outs are low quality, and clearly no one who speaks German was involved because there are errors throughout. Don’t waste your money.

False description, it is a vocabulary book not a pack of cards. Badly printed, black and white. The cover gives a false impression. I wanted a pack of flash cards, not a book!

Some messed up words in this book, don’t let your kids read alone , pretty disappointed

Why I like it: Picture + English word + German word = a German word learned! And a good handful for the price!
