Wrights Madeira Cake Mix 500g

I bought a few of these at the start of Lockdown because I couldn't find flour. In 48 years of married life I have never used a cake mix but always make my own. But I was desperate and they only needed water added. I recognise the Wright's brand and was very impressed with the mixes. I added rose flavouring to one, mixed fruit to another and vanilla and almonds to yet another. They were all delicious. The only negative is no matter how well wrapped, they do go stale more quickly than a home bake. But really that's a minor point. Overall I was very impressed and for those who like cake but not the cooking of them then this is a simple alternative that does taste home made with excellent flavour.

This mix made a really good cake. I loved it and will definitely buy more. The mix cooked quite well and it was easy to make in the first place.

I normally make my own cakes but I'd tried this mix once for quickness and it was really good. Made a perfect sponge and the good thing is you don't need to buy eggs and butter
