I take it your feeder leaks. Take it apart and look at how the two bottom pieces go together correctly . It's difficult to keep those 2 pieces together while screwing in onto the bottle while it is upside down. Put a little bit of tape to hold it together while screwing on the bottle and you won't allow the seal to dislodge itself. Hope this helps.

Q: Is this made with red glass or clear glass painted red?

Clear glass with a red film. One trip through the dishwasher and the finish will be flaking off. That said, BOLITE are really good quality otherwise, and this one is a wide mouth, so very easy to fill. I have 2 of this brand, both a few years old now and both have been through the dishwasher MANY times... The glass on mine lost the tint almost immediately, and the trays eventually faded from the sun (I just spray-painted my trays and ports and they look good as new now.) The hummingbirds don't seem to care that the glass is clear- we still have birds all summer long- more birds than 2 feeders can keep up with. So I am happy and about to order 2 more of these feeders.
