Q: Will v-out stay stable w/ a changing v-in? for instance 14v in and set for 3 v out but over time input (battery) drops to 11v.

I haven't monitored the Output Voltage vs. Input Voltage change, but I have noticed that the output tends to drift down as the output current increases. I haven't seen it drop below the 2.5% allowed in the spec, though, and I have drawn as much as 2.3 Amps.

Q: Is there any delay when supplying voltage till output is sent?

Output voltage begins to ramp up within a few micro seconds (usec) of applying input voltage but it takes a few hundred usec to reach full output voltage. The time to achieve full output depends on both the input and output voltage. I was curious so I measured a few cases. The times to reach full output voltage with a 470 Ohm load were: 10.0V in, 5.0V out: 288 usec 20.0V in, 5.0V out: 304 usec 20.0V in, 15.0V out: 570 usec 30.0V in, 15.0V out: 572 usec 30.0V in, 25.0V out: 662 usec Cheers

It absolutely can. I have used these to convert my 12V supply into both 5V and 3.3V

Q: At 12 volts input and (say) 5 volts output, what is the quiescent (no-load) current on the 12 volt side? Thanks!

On my regulators the no load input current for 12V in 5V out is 7.8 mA with the output indicator LED installed. With the LED, the no-load current depends strongly on output voltage rising to 23 mA at 11V output. With the LED removed the no load input current at 12 V in 5 V out is 6.0 mA. Without the LED is independent of output voltage.
