Well made all metal construction & easy install !
Push in and out stopper plug is a nice upgrade over the old school pull tab/lever type. After looking over the reviews I was at first I a bit concerned that the drain was too big to fit in the sinks drain hole. After I got the old drain out ,it was an easy fit with zero issues. FYI ,drain plug is shipped with a thin, removable plastic cap and tissue to protect the finish , remove after installation. Check the pics out for the measurements and see if your sink can accept this drain. I like the looks of this drain . It fits correctly , matches my old drain very nicely. It is indeed of all metal construction , very sturdy and well made. Be sure to use plumber's putty between trim cap and bowl. Took about 30mns to remove old drain and install the new one. Days later still no leaks and zero issues !

Beautiful Gold Sink Drain
Works perfectly! No directions but it was easy for my husband to install. Great value for the money! Beautiful gold color & matches the faucet I bought perfectly.

Excellent quality, but poor installation instructions
Really loved the quality of this drain fixture. My less than 5 star rating is due to the fact that there are no instructions included. As I have installed many sink drains in my lifetime, I thought this was no big deal. Installed it referencing the photographs in the ad, which showed the silicone gasket cupped downward, After wasting a couple of hours, and much frustration, because it continually leaked, I read all of the reviews. In several of them, it was noted that that gasket should be installed upwards, such as a cup, not as it is shown in the photos. The included diagram is correct, but the photos are wrong. I would definitely buy this drain again, but the manufacturer should include some instructions to prevent much unneeded frustration.

Put TefTape or Caulk or pipe thread putty on threads of drain just below the overflow opening... !!
Put TefTape or Caulk or pipe thread putty on threads of drain pipe just below the overflow opening...or it will drip !! This is not like one piece plastic types. Be careful look at DIAGRAM not photo's, the lower washer is a cup shape... It did fit a 1 3/4" drain ok. Its Beautiful looking. I doubt it could fit 1 1/4" drain hole . After reading reviews I looked at the images, they are contradictory (i informed amazon); Be careful look at DIAGRAM 3/4 way down page, not photo's, the lower washer is a cup shape and should point up not down. Another confusion is the black washer which is a reducing type (meaning it has 2 diameters in one item), the small diameter goes into the tailpiece facing down. One person mentioned its quite easy to lose this black washer/reducer and thus the tailpiece would leak. The upper white washer has the taper side on the down, ... the video at time 23 sec briefly shows the black washer, watch the vid first, then carefully photograph the whole unit as it comes out of the box to refer to later . installing the washers wrongly (as images 1,3,5, and 7, have it explains difficulties and leaks. Yeah in the very main head line images, photos 1,3, 5, 7 are wrong on the lower washer (which way it faces, they have cup side down instead of UP ) . B sure2use pipe thread putty or caulk or teflon tape in pipe threads just below the cup shaped washer or it WILL drip after a short time.

Lots of critical reviews, but this is not junk
I am not going to say that folks who had bad experiences with this product are lying, nor am I going to question their competency with installing drains. I consider myself a competent DIYer, and can say that I ordered/installed two of these without issue. I was actually impressed with the quality of the materials. I had expected plastic tubing, but the whole product actually felt as if it were made out of some kind of metal. It was even oiled bronze color all the way down to where it meets the U-trap (or is it J trap?). Usually, the part that goes under the sink is a cheap blue plastic. After installation, the first test resulted in a very tiny leak. By tiny, I mean that you can leave the faucet running for about 2 minutes before a single drop made its way through. Turning the sealing nut about a quarter-turn fixed that problem. I did not use ANY additional sealants: no silicone, no plumbers putty. There aren't any instructions, so you should know what you are doing if you buy this product. Also note that there is one BLACK rubber washer that comes included with this that I don't see in the pictures. There are three clear/white washers that form the seal on both sides of the sink. The black one helps form the seal at the bottom of the drain, where you attach the assembly part that goes into the J-trap. I almost didn't notice that it had fallen off when I first installed the drain, but fortunately I did. I suspect that a lot of folks that had leaking problems may have lost this washer, because it doesn't stay in place very well and if you have a dark vanity (like I do), it can easily get lost and blend in. UPDATE: 2 weeks after installing this, I observed a small puddle in my vanity. This is because the rubber washers appear somewhat flimsy and seemed to slowly shim out of place. But this occured only one of the drains. I sent for a replacement and I had the same issue. I think that if you tighten these TOO MUCH, they will actually work less. So on my third try, I applied flex seal to the threads and hand tightened. This did the trick. As a result, I am downgrading from 5 to 3 stars.

Pretty good replacement, but ...
Everything about this drain is perfect except for one aspect ... the drain itself is too short and didn't reach our p-trap, it was short about an inch and a half. We had to buy a 1-1/4"X6" EXTENSION TUBE from Home Depot.
