This works well. I had to replace a hasp on a trunk with 1.5" width rails and also needed hidden screws for security. (most hasps this length had visible screws that could just be unscrewed, defeating the purpose of a lock) 2 rails at 1.5" each for total of 3" width. This had just a little overhang on the bottom, which makes it easy to grab with your finger. (my box had inset panel) Easy install with supplied screws. It would be nice to have a template to make it a bit easier, but take your time and you will be fine. After testing with first trunk, I ordered again to fix another trunk. I would recommend this hasp. Have fun.

Very nice hasp. We liked the antique brass finish, but would have liked to have some design stamped into it better. Nevertheless, it is attractive, functional and offers excellent security with the holding screws concealed when locked.

What it says it is and does no issue. Comes with black and silver screws. Like most locks it's only to keep honest people out so don't buy it if you need real security. A hammer will definitely break it open..

Cheaply made and not worth the money. Screws broke after 4 turns of screw driver. I know have two half screws stuck in my project.

Dont use the screws. I pre drilled these holes and they still snapped the heads off before making contact with the part i was mounting.

I needed to create a neat and attractive method for locking a pair of out-opening windows. This, combined with a nice brass padlock, did the trick.
