Third one!
We love this umbrella so much, it is our third one in ten years. Living in South Florida, It is great for sun protection. We both sit under it with room to spare. We go to the beach often. Once it fades, we add to our pool umbrella collection as they look so nice.

Working well so far
Bought this umbrella for a week at the beach, and so far it is working well. One day was VERY windy with remnants of the tropical storm, and the umbrella held firm in the ground, didn't bend, and basically performed like you would expect one to perform. Good deal and the screw definitely holds it down. No need for a sand anchor that seem so common these days.Updated to include a photo.

Lightweight, Sturdy Shade Umbrella
I was super happy to get this in the mail! While I don’t currently live near the beach, I plan to go on a beach trip pretty soon, so I wanted an umbrella I could use now as a patio umbrella and also have the option to take to the beach when I go soon, and this one did not disappoint!Pros:- Surprisingly lightweight yet sturdy, which makes it very easy to travel with. I included a picture of the carrying case, which is pretty small (could easily fit in any car), and has a big handle so you could carry it like a sling. Great design there.- Easy to put together. Part of the base poll comes apart for storage, and it is as simple to stick it in and push down on the latch.- The umbrella’s reach is HUGE. I was shocked to see just how widget the umbrella can get after seeing how small the carrying case is.- The colors on the umbrella are very vibrant and definitely stand out as a traditional beach umbrella.Con:- I found it to be ever so slightly difficult to push the umbrella out far enough to snap in position, but honestly, that just shows how strong it is. It would take a LOT of force to knock the umbrella down.

Great umbrella IF you reinforce it....
To make a long story short - love this umbrella BUT IT HAS TO have some accommodations made to make it work. Based on prior reviews, I went to the local hardware store and bought different sizes of stainless steel hose clamps (see picture), which are only about $1 each, before the umbrella arrived. We placed two of them on the bottom where the auger connects to the main umbrella pole to give it extra support and made sure to bury the umbrella as deep as we could in the sand (the plastic auger does have some issue with digging deep into wet sand). This all being stated, within about 5 minutes of sitting happily under this pretty umbrella, it closed itself on us. We put it back up, it closed again. This happened constantly in the first 30 minutes of use. We were contemplating how to return this umbrella and deal with having no umbrella on a southern beach vacation while 600 miles from home. I then realized I had bought one extra stainless steel hose clamp, and we opened the umbrella and placed the clamp onto the lower pole right where the umbrella/upper pole met it when it was fully opened to give it extra support (we put the screw portion of the clamp right under where the blue button is located above). We did this each time we used the umbrella on the beach, and never again had trouble with the umbrella closing on us. We were thankful we had these clamps handy, because it would've been a tough week in the hot SC sun otherwise. (In full disclosed, another couple had the same umbrella next to us on the beach and they said they'd had no trouble with it, so it might just depend on which one you get). Anyway, great umbrella, but make sure to buy 2-3 of these clamps (and bring a flat headed screwdriver with you), just in case. Other than the inconvenience of having to install/uninstall these clamps each time we used the umbrella (takes about a minute or so), everything else went very well. We had no issue with the auger breaking off (though we installed the clamps over that section before use).

Best Beach Umbrella
I loved my brother's beach umbrellas like this one. He lives in Florida and camps on islands, combining three of these umbrellas and a black-out tent for day shade. I finally ordered two, took them to the beach last week, and they are just like his. Love the cheerful multicolor.

bought two- perfect for our group
I bought two of these with the attached spike. I used them at the beach this weekend-2 days. The bag with shoulder strap was great. My middle school girls were able to carry to/from the beach. We had 2 umbrellas--- they provided enough shade for a huge blanket, a chair, small cooler, and places to stand. There were 5 in our group. I was able to screw it in the sand far enough to hold them strong both days without re-adjusting. I used the little crossbar chain to hang my sunglasses on when in the water, also looped the bags around it so it wouldn't blow away, and to hold backpack up so it didn't collect sand too. It was a typical beach wind, but not excessive. I would suggest on set up to set the bottom half of the pole correctly and securely, then putting the umbrella on top. Take down was easy. Push button release on the underside, Velcro strap to keep it neat. I put the spike end and the top of the umbrella next to each other and was able to slide the two pieces back in the carry bag easily. There is a drawstring closure with spring closure on the bag, and enough space to loop the string around the top to keep bugs out during off season storage.
