Q: I need to have internet in a device that only takes ethernet.Can this device pick the wireless signal and give internet to my device using ethernet?

Also note that the ethernet port is only 100Mbit. So if your existing WiFi is usually capable of more than 100Mbit, for example your WiFi internet is 150Mbit or more, you will only get around 100Mbit or a little less to your ethernet device. You'd have to pay a little more money for a different device with a GigaBit ethernet port if you want to get anything more than 100Mbit out of this ethernet port.

Q: Can this access point have the same SSID as my main router in order to be able to access the same network

It's going to be connected to the same network and can have the same SSID. I use mine as an access point at the other end of the my house and gave it a slightly different name so I would know which device (my router also has wireless connectivity). I could always look at signal strength and tell the difference, but I like the slightly different name.

This is a wireless access point not a router, that means that it only provides a wireless signal for computers, tablets phones etc. It must have a wired connection to it from the internet. It does not have a firewall so if you have a internet connection only at this time you should get a model with a router/firewall not this model.

It absolutely would be better to connect via Ethernet if possible to extend/repeat the signal and Im going to tell you why. Wireless repeaters have a major drawback, the fact that when used completely wirelessly the device has to send and receive (repeat) the signal simultaneously so it will in fact immediately cut your bandwidth IN HALF even if you place it directly next to your router. SO say you have a 15Mbps connection, your immediately going to only have a 7.5Mbps connection then say you put it 60ft from your router, your most likely only going to get about a 3-4Mbps signal if your farther away then good luck. If you piggy back it to your router via ethernet your going to have your full signal speed wherever you decide to locate it. Whala.
