First Aid For the USMLE Step 1 2020, Thirtieth Edition

Functional as always

FA is basically the bible for med students, so here I am, worshipping at the altar of our lord and savior McGraw Hill. It's concise and to the point which makes studying easier and more efficient. I use it with Picmonic since they have a page by page follow along feature that lets me look up any mnemonics they have for the topics on a given page/chapter. Then I review everything with UWorld. I do wish I bought this sooner to help identify high yield info earlier on in school. Long story short, First Aid is a must-have for anyone preparing for Step 1!

Lol if you’re buying this it’s not because you want to, but because you have to. So a review won’t really make a difference to you. Butt either way, First Aid is tried and true, it’ll get the job done. It’s so thicc that it’ll dry the numerous nights worth of tears you spend crying into it. Happy studying friends.

Great book, I love the cover ( plastic and vinyl mixed material ); I am a 3rd year Medical student, the content is clearly written and easy to follow. One of the MUST HAVE books you need to get if you are preparing for USMLE STEP 1. This book is supplementary for all your other sources, but not a single point of resource.

Had to replace my 2019 version after my son ripped some pages out, and I actually prefer this version. Some people have complained about the quality of printing but I have not run into this issue. I received an authentic copy in perfect condition, so no complaints here. I plan on getting it spiral-bound at Staples so it’s a bit easier to manage. I did this to my 2019 version and highly recommend it.

Awesome source! I got it used in good condition and honestly, it's brand new looking with the exception of 1 single page that has some written in notes. Excellent buy, still super relevant to today's material!

Very good book to study for Step 1, very exact with the content, images are very clear and precise and the content once you go over it you understand everything with clarity, I loved it

I started working from the 2010 edition of this book several years ago but never took the USMLE. I'm revisiting the USMLE now and bought the new edition. I think it is worth the money. The new edition is improved - also always important to work off the newest edition, for example big new developments like CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing make an appearance (not sure which edition that came in on but it's a good example of how you need to keep up with the most recent developments). It remains a great book but it's always been a high-yield review type book so most people will need to read around the pages from other sources.
