Oster BLSTVB Versa - No Regrets
I had been considering the Nutri-Bullet as my sister got one and recommended it. However, I never take someone's suggestion too seriously until I do some investigating on my own. All in all, I found reviews of the Oster Versa more than satisfactory and coming from an old 350 or was it 450 Watt Oster blender (with no attachments and was so loud everyone got irate when I turned it on), I was looking forward to a kitchen appliance that was versatile enough to be a food processor, smoothie maker and blender all in one. The day it was delivered I tried it, using the food processor first to make some coleslaw. I was thrilled with the power difference - the 1100 watts impressively accomplishes the job quickly and easily... It's not silent by any means, but the sound is much, much less disturbing than my old Oster. It cleaned up easy and the next day I tried the smoothies. Love the way it has a separate setting for that. Just turn on, touch the smoothie button and blend away. It starts out with a pulsing action that builds up as it breaks down the ingredients, then speeds up to blend them all perfectly, then automatically stops. Pretty effortless. Just remove the cup, take off the blades and screw on the top - voila - you are licking your lips, enjoying your smoothie. This machine appears to be made quite well, even though the containers are plastic. It's a sturdy grade, but lessens the weight of this appliance when you want to put it away. I found my old glass blender container bulky and hard to handle when washing it. I've only had this item for a little over a week and I enjoy each moment I've used it. I'm really glad I got this and not the Nutri Bullet. It does so much more! I hope it gives me a long life of use!

Hands down probably best bang for your buck if you don't care about HOT SOUPS or PULVERIZING berry seeds
Does a pretty good job. I would say this is a step above your standard blender but really doesn't to anything great. All my smoothies had seed or skins in them even if I ran them an extra cycle. I just don't think the motor has the torque or the real speed or the blade design to pulverize those seeds. The blades need to be a bit thicker and a little less sharp. On a slow motion camera I was able to see the blackberry seeds skipping off the blades instead of being hit with the flat end of the blade and pulverizing it. Build quality is OK definitely feels cheap and plasticky all over. I would rather have had a sold color combo like the older 1400 watt versa this just sticks out like a sore thumb in a kitchen. Knobs and buttons all felt loose wiggled and just didn't seem solid enough for me. Unfortunately blender spindle came off on salsa/reverse and screwed it back in but I had to return it. Gasket on bottom leaked so ordered a new one from JARDEN(quick shipment) but still had issues. On high speed a lot of stuff splashes out of the small filler cap. Was not as loud as a was hoping for. I have heard vitamix and blendtecs that seem like they shake your ear drums this wasn't that loud though...I wanted that extra ooomph of a V8 Price and Warranty can't be beat if you want a good blender at a great price you can't really beat this especially with all the bonus add ons(cups, lids, mixer attachments) Jarden/Oster warranty is hard to beat. I will say they don't do a very good job when contacted through email. I sent 5 emails to them and only received one canned response. I also asked a few questions about their products that I wanted to purchase and never received a response over a 60 day time period. Very disappointing. I think Hamilton Beach is probably the best at responding when it comes to mid level blenders. Vitamix and Blendtec are hands down winners.

Fantastic blender, no review or video review does it ..justice
Fantastic blender, no review or video review does it justice, I'm surprised that Oster did not make a decent or even accurate review of this amazing blender, all the video reviews I have seen are lacking in quality and honesty, even the Oster add is a bad one. The blender makes everything super smooth, even hard greens like kale, and nuts, love the 2 20z cups for super fast and easy blending :) and the different automatic blend features that allow hard to blend fruits like prunes to be blended into smooth shakes :). The great part about the automatic blending features is safety feature, I was not aware of this aspect but the motor can be damaged much faster by improper use, the pre-programmed blending features take care of that, super easy to assemble and disassemble and clean. I do not know why some people complain about the jar being plastic instead of glass, I had a blender with a smaller glass jar and it was much heavier, this one is very light and does not leave any odor as claimed by some owners, perhaps they did not properly clean their jars I have been using it for 4 months and all my stuff comes out to a nice smooth pure type mix, baby food type :). I have no idea what other people are doing perhaps they are mixing in the hardest of foods and expecting miracles, well some foods need to be boiled, or that would help in case of blending and digestion with many vegetables, I mean you can't throw in a potato into even a industrial blender and expert miracles, so far so good, love the blender and the company, Oster has a 50 year reputation that is incomparable. This blender is a great investment the cheaper 20-60$ blenders really aren't worth in in the long run they all wear down and many break in less than a year, they don't blend anywhere near as well, the other blenders in the $300-$600 range are a bit better than this one but there is not not hat much of a difference + Oster's 7 year warranty for this blender speaks for it self, so if one does the math thats $150 divided by 7 years or 2555 days = 0.0587084148727984 CENTS A DAY!, thats a great deal :) which is, you getting the same quality product as the high end blenders that cost almost as much as a cheap used early 90's late 80's motor vehicle

Horrible product & atrocious customer service. Food processor quit after 1 use & manufacture originally refused to honour warranty. When they finally agreed to the warranty they made the conditions impossible so I'm stuck with an inoperable processor. Pitched the whole unit into the basement.
