Q: Will v8 work iin a v6

This distributor was used on both the v6 and v8 vortex engines...just different timing marks, point the rotor to the "6" for the v6 and "8" for the v8...that is at TDC for the number 1 cylinder. You can see the 6 and 8 looking straight down at the top of the distributor.

Q: They say this got the timing mark buy the gear they flat-out lied

I haven’t dropped my new distr. in yet. But, all you do is point the rotor on the #1 on the cap. Make sure #1 piston TDC. No timing mark buy the gear as well.

Q: Does this have a hardened cam gear? i need to replace mine because the soft oem gear has worn so badly.

I don’t know about hardened? It is a steel gear. It works way better then the stock plastic piece of junk that came with the truck. Replace the plugs and wires why your going to the trouble. It is worth the money and works 10times better then stock.
