Seagate 16TB 7200RPM HDD

I haven't seen a non-SATA hard drive sold at retail in, what, a decade or so? This page says nothing about the interface of the drive not being what consumers would 100% expect. Sloppy marketing, and now my project has lost a week while waiting for the wrong type of drive to arrive. If you do receive one of these, be very careful inserting them, by the way. The difference in connector is misleadingly subtle. SATA connectors have two separate sets of pins, while this drive's SAS connector looks nearly identical but connects the two sets of pins and will break some SATA connectors if you push too hard.

Wow, these drives are great. I bought four of them. Easy to set up. Had them running in under 10 minutes. I'm using them in a Mediasonic Pro RAID box as individual discs. All read and write perfectly in this system. I can't wait to get more of them.

Ordered this drive thinking it would be brand new, instead received a used unit in an opened package. I can't trust this device in an enterprise environment..

Bought this HDD, now i will need to buy separate SAS 2 SATA adapter, so still cant use it for another week.. It would have been useful if this information was in the headline of the product.

I ordered a few of these drives. I registered them with Seagate for warranty status and they come back as warranty expired!! Avoid these drives and buy from a known retailer.

The Sata connector is different from the previous disk and there is no warning about this in the platform

Failed to be recognized by any of my systems so it was returned without a problem.

This product has a wrong / misleading product description. Because it says that the interface is "Serial ATA" I was thinking that I am buying a normal SATA HDD, but instead I got a SAS HDD which I can't use. Now I have to return this HDD due to wrong description of the product :(

Product as advertised. Have ordered many drives online and packaging was unusual but effective and secure.

This is a SAS interface drive, not compatible with SATA (one connector with both power and data). I was able to return the drive back, lost some money in the process, but happy that they refunded most of it.
