Super sharp and easy to handle; helped me move apartments
With my old go-with-the-cheapest box cutter on its last legs/blades, I decided to shop around for something a bit nicer to replace it just in time for moving into a new apartment. The NT Cutter wasn't much more expensive, but it sure as heck was a lot nicer.Since getting it a few months ago, it's been through some brutal box and packing tape cutting, including really hard multi-ply corrugated cardboard boxes that held appliances and heavy furniture -- and even the dense sort of boards that protect furniture corners (for which I probably shouldn't use a box cutter). For the vast majority of boxes, it slices through like butter, never catching or tearing except on the gnarliest packaging. The edge has certainly started to visibly wear by now, but its performance for my purposes is largely unchanged (especially now that I've gotten through the move in large part). The size is perfect for my small hands, and I really like the clicky extension/retraction -- much smoother than my old box cutter.Really happy with this knife, and would be glad to keep refilling it with blades.

Best Heavy Duty Utility Knife I Have Used
This is the best snap-blade utility knife that I've used. Funny, yesterday I was discussing how much I like this tool with a friend over lunch. My friend said that he really likes the Lennox Tradesman Locking Utility Knife, also sold by Amazon. (When I remember how to link to Amazon products within the page I will update with the link.) We have different needs: he owns an HVAC company and puts his knife to heavy use. Professionally, I am an electrical engineer and my hobby is woodworking. I also use the Utility Knife for home projects. My friend needs a strong blade; sharpness is less critical for his purpose. I need a sharp blade; there are different tools I use for heavier cutting.Pros-------------------+They mean it when they say "Locking". Unlike other utility knives I've used, the blade will not slip in this one.+Integrated blade snapper. The red plastic end-plug has a slot the fits over the blade tip like a shoe, covering the point and exactly the right depth to snap off the old blade.+Feed good in the hand.+Stainless construction.+Easy blade changes.Cons---------The blade snapping slot in the red plastic end plug could be marked so that it is easier to see: I struggle to see a <1mm slot in red plastic in anything other than bright light. Usually, I mark it with a Sharpie.-The gray color looks cool, but makes the tool more difficult to find inside my tool bag.Comparison---------------At this same time I bought the NT Utility Knife, I also bought an OLFA 5003 L-1 18mm Ratchet-Lock Heavy-Duty Utility Knife, also from Amazon. This blade will stay locked, but only after you take several turns on the thumb wheel. They use interchangeable blades.

Exceptional Japanese Quality
18mm Snap off utility knifeThe quality of this utility knife is exceptional, Japanese are really skeptical about what they're doing. I love it!, all metal construction except only 2 things! Although this knife is great it could be much more better IF ratcheting lock wheel knob should be metal too but it is plastic, and the blade snapper is also Plastic as well but the rest of the knife are all metal. Overall it's a great knife, great quality Japanese made utility snap off knife versus the Chinese imitations, copied and replica ones. One thing for sure! I have to use and abuse this knife to find out if it last! My 17 year old Japanese made retractable utility knife is still working though but it's not a snap off like this one. I highly recommend this cutting tool. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great utility knife/cutter. Thin and light, but very sturdy.
Really happy with this cutter. Thinner than other cutters I've used, but I don't think that is a negative nor particularly a positive. It is just a different size. That being said, it holds in the hand well, and the bottom portion of the length/sheath is "ribbed" so that you can keep a good grip on it. It doesn't slip in the hand. Have only snapped off one section of the blade thus far and that was easy enough using the end-cap that has a small slit in it designed for that, although needle-nosed pliers or the like work fine too. One should always exercise care in snapping those things off regardless of what's used. Use has been limited to foam board, cardboard, and paper, but no problems with those mediums.Generally, I've no complaints at all with this knife/cutter. Works quite well for my purposes.

Works great !
I needed something to open boxes with, and this is just the right size for my child-sized hands! It's not flimsy, the blade doesn't fall out, and the grip is not uncomfortable hard plastic, unlike some other cutters I have used in the past. It's really comfortable to hold. I would highly recommend people give this product a try!

Rugged and reliable
These utility knives are really outstanding. They are superior in durability, sharpness, grip and value. This is my second order. My first knife is several years’ old, and after heavy use and abuse, it’s still going strong.

These are a few of my favorite things...
Fit, feel & finish are impeccable. Do yourself a favor & replace those cheap throw-away plastic knives. Indulge in the small luxury of using this little beauty.I use it for many things, from the obvious opening of packages, photo mat cutting, to ripping seams in clothes to be mended. With snap blades, it's always sharp & ready.Side note, the included Japanese blades are higher quality (sharper & slightly thicker) than the bulk refill packs I had on hand from the hardware store. So depending on what you're using it for, you may want to consider that.Shipping from Japan is worth the wait. Value vs quality is unbelievable. I couldn't be happier. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have 😊 Never thought I could say so much about a little knife.
