Really works!
Unfortunately, one of our cats was peeing on wheels in the garage. Lawn mower, garden wagon, but the motor cycle caused war! We bought this mesh and simply lined it around the bike perimeter when it's in the garage and they do not walk on or over it. It works for us. Also, for my deck planters I cut (easily with scissors) small pieces and place strategically around the plants and lightly cover with some mulch or potting soil so not visible, and the cats no longer did my plants out of the planters or try to use the plants as a litter box.

Works
Suceeded in deterring neighbor cat from using my plant area as a place to relieve itself where other products had failed.

Keeps the cats out
They are time-consuming to cover my entire raised bed, but they are the only true solution I have found to keep the cats out of the garden. It does take like 4 rolls to do a standard 4 by 8 raised bed. I always need more spikes than what is included in the packaging.

Birds are happy, but the neighborhood cats are frustrated
The birds in the tree are happy. The cats are frustrated

Only stops digging. Not effective as a deterrent.
I bought this to stop my cat from jumping/walking on a porch railing, and this was completely ineffective for my situation. I think it would prevent digging, and I'm certain she wouldn't sit or lay on it, but she has no issue walking between the spikes and even jumping and landing on the spikes. It probably depends on the cat, but my kitty is scrappy and determined so this was a waste for me. I'm still giving a good rating for quality, the product was easy to use and install. I had to cut it down to size and used some strong kitchen shears to do so. It came with some sturdy metal spikes which didn't work with my application but would work well in a garden situation. Just be aware of what you're buying it for, it may not be the best solution to prevent cats walking or jumping.

Curls to Die For
I thought it was a great way to keep cats out of my front garden. It's their personal litter box and the last thing I want to smell whenever I step out my front door. I opened this and yes, as it shows in the picture it is rolled up. Unrolling it is pure death. Wear garden gloves because you might as well be dealing with thorns. It's hard to roll out without tearing up for hands but once you do get it rolled out it's easy to clip into workable sizes. Mind you, the cut pieces curl right back up and there are not enough of the metal spikes to hold down all four sides if your making lots of squares. They also REFUSE to lay flat. You're either doing to have to blow dry them and then lay something heavy on them to flatten them or just buy an extra pack of the spikes to hold down every corner. At that rate you might as well have spent the extra money and bought the precut Scat Mats. I thought I was saving myself some money but it wasn't worth the scrapes and frustration. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are using the entire strip.

Love this Cat Scat Mat!!! Discourages my Baby from getting on my couch!!!
All my babies are now big doggies!!! I have a bad habit of letting them get on the couch with me when they are little, but I have always been able to keep them off my couch once they got bigger!!! My biggest fella is close to 80lbs, and has weighed more than that at times!!! Unfortunately, my last rescue babie has refused to be detoured!!! I was able to keep her off for a while, and then she started all over again to get on my couch!!! It is very important nowadays that she stay off my couch because now I sleep on my couch!!! And her getting on my couch wouldn't be such a big deal, except that when I forget and yell at her to get down, she pees on my bed. Being a rescue, she obviously needs more love and attention than other dogs do!!! And I try NOT to yell at her at all, except when she gets out of the fence, and at that point, I am calling her name looking for her instead of yelling at her. When she does get on my couch, she likes to stick her nose in my big mug of iced tea!!! And she has actually drank some of it, and either vomited it up or spat it out on my couch!!! Before now, all my other babies have gotten down when I told them to get down without peeing, or vomiting on the couch. So, to keep my bed from being peed on, vomited on, or spilled on by my youngest and most determined babie girl puppy doggie, I bought this Cat Scat Mat!!! It works!!! I put the one strip down the middle!!! And at 1st she stayed off of my bed!!! Then she decided to sit on one side of it!!! Unfortunately when I made her get off, she peed on my couch, AGAIN!!! Anyway, I took the extra piece and put it on the one side, and she is staying off my couch as of now!!! So, I am PLEASED!!! Today, she paused looked at the Scat mat lying on top of my bed/couch, and turned and walked on by!!! Hooray!!! I am definitely winning the battle!!! Obviously, when I get my bedroom repaired, I will keep the door closed, but til then, these mats are doing a great job!!! I bought some more mats to put outside in my large pot to keep the neighbor's cats from using it as a place to potty!!! I sure hope they work as well as this has. Thank you to whoever invented these mats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There ya be.
My next door neighbor feels like she needs to feed all the stray cats in the neighborhood. Bags of cat food are dumped all over her porch/yard. Meanwhile every garden I have is being used as a litter box, scratching post, digging pot, sunning bed, or anything else to destroy my hundreds of dollars in food/flowers I’ve planted. Can’t do what I want. So I’m lining my gardens with this. Me and my German Shepherd are having fun watching the cats leave my gardens alone. Finally.

WE USED IT AROUND OUR BED TO STOP OUR CAT FROM SCRATCHING OUR NEW BOX SPRING AND WAKING US UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. WE CUT IT IN STRIPS.

This is a wonderful product not only as a deterrent to cats but to protect flower bulbs from rabbits and other critters Love it Love it
