Q: What is the difference between this product and "Gingher 4-1/2-Inch Knife Edge Thread Nippers"? Thanks!

Gincher has two thread nipper scissors. The above is smaller and has a plastic handle and small blade. the other is all stainless steel, had more cutting edge and is heavier. The first is for smaller threads/getting closer, the second is for broader use. Personally I do not love either of these as I have both. the smaller one is a bit sticky and the scissors do scissor do not open smoothly. the second one is too heavy. While I love gingher scissors, i would not repurchase either of these.

Q: Do these snip cutters come with a cap? I'm trying to find one so when i store them away they wont snag onto anything and damage it.

They do come with a cap that's a tight fit. It won't accidentally come off. There's also a place on the cap to add a ribbon or lanyard so you can put them around your neck or hang them on something.

Q: Has anyone had any luck sharpening these?

I find the blades are too short to sharpen. I then use them for, 'less important stuff', and just buy a new one. I must have three or four around as I can't seem to go without them. They are just a part of my, sewing/cross stitching 'uniform'. Always the most important part of my project.
