These work shockingly well in a tuned transmission line enclosure!!
I ordered one of these (make that two since I have another TL to build) to finish up a some transmission line enclosures that I've printed off. Especially for how cheap these are compared to the more bougie options that are available, they do a shockingly decent job as a mid-bass driver given the tiny size. There's really not that much surface area available to generate all that much pressure for any form of gut-punching bass, but give these little guys a tuned port cabinet or a transmission line, then be strategic with your room placement and it's more than possible to have one of these rattle your noggin just the absolute tiniest little bit if you drive them hard enough. In the transmission line enclosures I'm using, these drivers can just about squeeze an audible 40Hz, but they become extremely noticeable once you pass the 100Hz region... That's where these drivers (enclosure permitting) can just about tap you in the chest and occasionally rattle the ol' nut when set loud enough. I'd generally advise though, as Dayton advertises, using these more as am all-round mid-bass to treble range driver given they don't really have a whole lot of excursion (movement of the cone) to make up for the lack of driver size. Again - you *can* achieve the tiniest amount of sub-bass with these drivers like I have managed to with a tuned enclosure and placing the completed speaker where the bass resonates, such as an enclosed shelf or under a desk... But it's really not worth trying to push every single decibel you can from a driver running outside the sensitivity range it's optimised for. You're just asking to release the magic smoke doing that!! The drivers themselves aside... I also really love the fact Dayton provides the characteristics for all of their drivers on their website. It makes obtaining the numbers you need to plug into the calculations for cabinet, porting or transmission line length much easier to find... Definitely beats renting a hard-to-find testing setup complete with anechoic chamber and measuring the characteristics manually!!

Replaced Yaesu FT-710 AESS speaker

Ideal as a replacement speaker in Ham Radio speakers
On looks alone, the Yaesu SP-10 comms speaker is great, matches the Yaesu FT-991 & 991A perfectly, even in the audio department! (which is not good) The speaker Yaesu fit is a cheap rubbish piece of crap, and I have seen mods involving a peerless speaker but that's too expensive Now I found this one on Amazon, £8.99 and weighs more than the whole SP-10. Fits easily using only two of the screws and some hot melt glue to properly seal the speaker in place. Now it sounds really good, clear and well rounded. It may well fit other communications speakers as well, but its certainly perfect for the Yaesu SP-10.

To replace speaker in SP10
Looks and sounds better than the original Yaesu SP10 speaker, Fitting was easy but can only use 2 of the 4 screws, this caused no problem. What would have been nice would to have been supplied with 2 push on fittings to fit the + & - tags on the new speaker. Had to solder in place.

Bought this to replace the subpar Yaesu SP10 speaker. Sounds a million times better. Seller should tape box shut so speaker stays in box during shipping. Thankfully just minor bend on mounting hole. Pilar’s easily fixed

(w.g. Bafflestep) 90Hz-16kHz +-2dB sind aber für ein 7€ Chassis herausragend.

The only problem, was connect the woofer in the originals speaker hole for the screws, but other than that all good , it works great and the quality is not like the original but it does its job, which is good

My speaker blew on my Aomais speaker. Bought these speakers to replace the old ones. They are a little taller then the ones came with the speaker and a little smaller for the hole but I positioned them the best I can and they worked just fine. Sound better then the old ones also. I don’t intend on taking the speaker near the water so I think it will be fine.
