The Star Wars Armada core set comes with a set of these same dice, so purchasing this set is not necessary for playing. What’s good about getting another set of dice for Armada? There are quite a few instances, where you’ll need four dice of the same color for rolls. The core set only has three colors of each dice, insuring you’ll have to re-roll a dice for the forth dice. It’s more for the convenience than a necessity and the game flows better.Update; If you only get one core set, this is still well worth it, as well as a second maneuvering tool. The players will have a set of dice with four colors of each, with two spare dice of each color, and each player will have a maneuvering tool or you can shorten the second one for close quarters play. If you plan on getting a second core set, like I did, a third set of dice will come in handy to add to the two core set dice and the third maneuvering tool can be shortened and shared for close quarters.

Seems silly to review dice but when the core game comes with slightly less dice than needed to not require additional rolls of the previous dice... this dice pack makes the game go much faster. Symbols are etched in so they'll never wear off with use. As far as one can tell without science, they seem well balanced enough. Usual quality product one can expect from Fantasy Flight Games.

Good quality dice - must have for any Armada player. The Core Set gives you enough dice to get by, but the extra dice help to speed up your game by limiting the rolls you need. Made my games go a lot smoother! Have used for the past month and no problems so far.

This pack isn’t required, but I personally found it very convenient to have around when playing. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

Cannot recommend this enough as you increase your fleet size. With buffers and ship upgrades, having a second or even a third set of dice for Armada isn't a bad idea. it's not uncommon to be rolling attack moves that use 5+ dice.

They do what they're supposed to do. I'm pretty sure that's why we buy them.

You really need to get two sets of the dice to have enough to play the game so if you are planning to invest in the game get a set or two of dice along with it.

Must have, otherwise you need to keep track of hits, misses, and any rerolls to a degree that can confuse some players, especially new ones.
