Test strips, regardless of brand or type, typically expire within 2 years of manufacture, usually about a year after the consumer purchases. It is HIGHLY recommended to throw out your test strips at the start of every season as they can go bad even if they are not yet expired due to moisture and temperature changes throughout the off season. Baquacil and BaquaSpa test strips are pretty easy to determine if they are still good based upon the color of the Sanitizer pad. As they go bad the sanitizer pad becomes lighter and lighter and eventually turns white before it has been dipped into the water. Q: What is the optimum Oxidizer color supposed to be? Deep blue?

Sometimes it is difficult to tell but the color should be close to the square on the bottle. When I first open our pool I take a water sample to our pool store for testing. If you're using the CDX system the oxidizer can last quite sometime after the initial shock treatment in the spring. Hope that helps.
