Buy this. Shop for the best price, it fluctuates constantly. This was the best I could find at the time. Buy actual Sonnax part and don't bother getting the "Beast" version, it is overkill and can cause problems with vibration in the driveline. The smart shell is already thicker than stock and comes with the transfer bearings needed to relieve the stresses from the driveline. This is the part you want for any 4L60E rebuild.

I have to detract one star as the only negative I found was a burr/splinter on the shell that I had to remove carefully. I don't like the idea of metal bits circulating my new transmission. I do however have the utmost confidence in the longevity of this smart shell. Sonnax provides all the goodies our 4l60e's could ever dream of. I would buy this again and recommend it to friends.

What can I say, its Sonnax... The best money can buy!! Fit the 700r4 perfectly, even upgrades the thrust washer to a torrington bearing.

This is my second transmission that I rebuilt, Using Sonnax Smart Reaction Shell for the first time. Like how it updated and reinforce and using thrust bearing instead of nylon bushing or brass bushing, new updated custom Roller Clutch Race to eliminate internal slack. Great Product would highly recommend
