If it's used in tissue engineering and bioengineering I'd assume it's safe. There's nothing saying it'll kill you. Like the company said, it helps the strips stick to your teeth.

Q: What if you have bonding on one of your tooth’s?

If you have a filling you can not whiten that. The original filling would have been matched with your natural tooth shade. You can whiten your teeth but not the filling material.
