Seems to be a used part, Teflon stuck in threads. Could possibly be cracked.

That this product is plastic and not metal
. I havent used it has yet as am disappointed that its plastic. I had planned to add it to my diesel fuel line but am not sure as to the strength of the plastic over whatever period of time. I am thin6that it may leak or break down over time causing fire.
