This is a IT professional & Aspiring IT professional must have!
Really great book! I was finally able to truly learn what cloud computing was and why everyone is moving towards using it. Ray Rafeals does an incredible job of explaining the technical details and business benefits that cloud computing offers with such ease that even I, someone with little prior knowledge about cloud computing, could understand easily. I was most interested by the in depth explanations of what does and doesn't work when moved to the cloud. That, along with many other segments of the book, gave you a sense of how seasoned in the field Mr. Rafeals really is. The book was a recommended read by my IT professor who mentioned it was well written and would really benefit, so I can confidently say this is a must read for both beginners and professionals in the industry.

Reviewed it for work - excellent book - makes a very complex subject easy to understand. Good for both beginner and expert alike. Provides a basic understanding of cloud computing, but it also covers key areas for implementation in great depth if you are interested in the technical side. Helpful that real life practical solutions are presented and discussed. Cloud computing is the hot topic of today but generally not well understood, this book helped me clear up many misconceptions.

Easy to read and understand, yet still very informative!
Overall a very well-written book. The author does a great job of clearly explaining the various models and architecture of the cloud.I have been looking for a book to help me navigate through the complex parameters of the cloud and how it can be applied to help reduce costs and increase efficiency within a business, and was referred to this book by a colleague.Prior to reading "Cloud Computing: From Beginning to End" I spent countless hours roaming the internet, sifting through article after article looking for any pertinent information, but unfortunately, unlike Rick, was unable to find anything substantive. If you're looking for a straightforward, concise introduction to the world of cloud computing, this book is for you!

Quick read, prettty good introduction
It's not clear who the intended audience is for this book. It is directly addressed to the hands-on people moving to the cloud, but the level is more of an introduction for management, but with some details added. It's a quick read, and a reasonable introduction to the cloud, but to do something technical, one needs more detailed books.

Four Stars
Excellent level of depth. Good summary with enough detail to introduce each topic.

Cloud BASICS, not beginning to end
Buy this book if you're a n00b to cloud. If you know anything about the subject, this book is a massive waste of time, money, and printed paper. It states fairly obvious concepts about cloud computing at a very high level and doesn't really ever get into the nitty gritty of it all. Read the entire book in about 30 minutes...did not learn a thing, except that I should stay away from books like this.

I enjoyed reading the book
I enjoyed reading the book. It was concise and had great tables to illustrate the similarities and differences of architectures. Of more importance, Ray clearly understands the importance of software and systems engineering disciplines in an ever growing complex information system.
