Spalding NBA Mini Basketball

This is a perfect size for my 2 year 1 month old Grandson. Who has been shooting this size basketball into a hoop at 7' high, for the last month. This ball has a nice grip to it, and is very close to a regulation size feel. He can hit 8 out of 10 shots from 3' back from net. He started when he was 1 year 10 months, on a 4' high hoop. He went from 4' to 6' in 45 days. Two weeks later, I raised mine to 7', and took him 20-30 minutes, then he began hitting consistently ! He lives and breathes basketball ! He has a net on his bedroom door, in the bathtub, their indoor one at 6', my adjustable one out back, set at 7'. My daughter and son in law have to bring the one from his bedroom that hangs on a door, when they go on vacation. Even when they go for a visit, he has to be able to shoot the ball ! I started getting him familiar with basketball, as early as he could understand. He was a natural, loves to come and watch old games with me. I am an old Celtics fan, so a lot of the late 1980's and 90's games. Specifically against the Detroit Pistons, and playoffs with LA ! It is truly a sight to see, a 2 year old swishing shot after shot, on a 7' net !

These balls came just as described. I have a total of 18 balls and will say that some of these are lighter/more faded than others. However, other than that they are great practice for my pre-k to 2nd graders to practice dribbling and shooting. They have good grip and hold air really well. Out of the 18 I've only noticed 1 that needed to be re-inflated completely. Could be they were squeezed tightly but haven't noticed any problems since then. I want to point out that even some of my more advanced 1st/2nd graders gravitate towards this size ball. I find it helpful in teaching the basic foundational skills of basketball without making it too overwhelming or scary. So definitely a plus.

This is a small basketball....what more can you say about it!?!? Let's see, the quality is good, it's green and blue, it bounces, etc. Actually none of that really matters in this review because our 10 month old thinks it is the best thing on the planet and it keeps him entertained for hours at a time playing with it and chasing it around the house. For that reason alone this thing gets like 100 stars and it wouldn't matter what it is made out of!

The ball is much smaller than I thought it would be, however it’s fine because I have a two year old son as well. If your looking to buy a regular sized outside basketball this is not the item, but if you have a younger child that could play with a more small ball then it’s a good pick.

Wonderful quality. Perfect size for little hands to learn on. Ours came mostly inflated but we had to pump a little more air in them to get a good bounce (not an issue). When buying a ball you should automatically assume you will need an air pump to inflate upon receiving and to keep it pumped over the years of use. After I rigged up a 7-foot-tall basketball hoop for my grandson, we tried several types of balls, even an old soccer ball. This is his favorite. It has just the right combination of size, heft, bounce and grippiness. We also tried a dime store plastic ball, but it is so light it is harder to control than the Spalding. This ball hits the sweet spot.

Great size for my 8 year old. We've had it for about a year and a half and it's holding up very well. My son also loves the bright colors which are different from your usual brown.

Bought this for my son to get into the world of basketball. He loves playing around with it and is just learning how to dribble. As this is a rubber ball, make sure your kid is slightly older so they don't get injured. It's not soft and the recoil from a bounce could hurt so take caution!

Arrived quickly. The kids love it , perfect size for little ones that like to shoot around outside. I recommend this product.

It's a mini-basketball. It's Spalding, so it's as good as you're going to get for what it is.
