Q: should the patches be wet with liquid after you take off the back sticker? or just sticky & slightly gel-y? (may have purchased an old set)

they should have a gel feeling but still need to adhere to your skin - the gel is absorbed - should not be dry and should feel cool and tingly. I like to leave on for 45 minutes for the best results.

Q: Why does this have aluminum as an ingredient?

The ingredient is Aluminum Glycinate, not actual aluminum. Aluminum Glycinate is not even close to pure aluminum however we understand how this ingredient can cause confusion. Pure aluminum is not added to any skincare or makeup product on the market. Compounds (mixtures of aluminum like Aluminum Glycinate) are safely used in not just personal care products but foods and medicines as well.
